simon says stamp monday challenge: vacation

Hi crafty friends, it's time for another challenge over one the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us in last week's Wedding/AnniversaryChallenge and I hope you will join us again this week too! This week our challenge is Vacation and I'm thinking about joining my mom in London at the end of the week! 

To create my card, I started with a layer of Antique Linen Distress Ink and water, and dried it to give my Distress Watercolor cardstock a vintage feel. Then I layered a few of my favorite layering stencils to create a colorful background. Then I continued to build up the background by stamping images from Citiscapes, an adding images from Noble Gent, Nature's Wonder and The Professor. I added a ticket from the Ticket Booth set and finished off the card with an Idea-ology Numeric number that I distressed with Candied Apple paint. I love the happy colors!

simon says stamp monday challenge: monochrome

 

 

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Wrap It Up! Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too!

 

This week our challenge is Monochrome and I created a card with a monochrome background using all of my favorite blue green Distress Inks and Oxides. I love how they look when you combine them together. I sprayed the panel with gold spray and also added a bit of black splatter. I cut the flowers out of Mixed Media Heavystock and Glassine and layered them together for added dimension.

Down to the wire on my October Tim tag! I wanted to play around with this technique all month and finally got to it last night. I always loved the Patchwork Collage technique, and mixing it with a monster was super fun. I love the metal look, but decided to make this vampire a bit different by adding some paint to his face and clothing and varying the texture on his hair and clothing. Hope you like him!

It's the end of the month, and my June Tim tag is done! I had a lot of fun with this one (even though I do not sew) and made a rainbow plaid. In the end, I only used a bit of it on my project, but I will definitely will use the rest for something else real soon!

Another tag just in time for the end of the month! I have been able to make all of my Tim Tags of 2016 this year, even if they all are cutting it close. This one has a bit of a "manly" feel to it, and I love the texture and the colors and the extra something you get with the addition of the Tarnished Brass Distress Spray Stain.

After a ton of catching up on life and cleaning out in the crafty space, I'm back to creating. No better way to get inspired than creating my Tim Holtz tag for April. I am totally in love with the woodgrain paper and can't stop making tiny little mosaic pieces. For this month's tag, I made a little seahorse and turned the grain on the woodgrain paper in the opposite direction to make some "waves". I created a few more waves using some Industrious stickers colored with alcohol inks. And the shiny background on my tag? Let's just say I may have gotten carried away with the Distress Mica Spray!

simon says stamp monday challenge: april showers bring may flowers

This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is April Showers bring May flowers. Our April has been really cold so far, so I decided to skip right ahead to the flowers! 

I wanted to achieve a painty look with these Winnie and Walter In Bloom Annas Floral stamps.  I painted my tag with a layer of Dylusions paint in Calypso Teal. I then stamped my flower images in white ink, and painted over them with other colors of Dylusions paints. Once the paint was dry, I stamped over the painted images in Archival Black ink.
