simon says stamp challenge: anything goes! (tim holtz)

Time for another challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. This week's theme is ANYTHING GOES and the design team is using Tim Holtz products. Not a requirement for this challenge, but we would love to see you use them if you have them! I am loving these Ringmaster Blueprints and all the rest of the blueprint stamps too...my wish list just keeps on growing.

12 tags of 2013: february

Just a quick share of my Tim Holtz February tag for 2013. This one had lots of fun techniques-a great background, coloring with distress markers, tissue tape ribbon and making your own embellishments. I know it's almost March, but I finally got to play along!

playing with distress paints (a birthday card)

I had a great morning playing with my new Distress Paints! I absoluely love them and can't wait to use them on even more projects. I had seen Tim Holtz make a tag like the background I used here and thought it would work great for a birthday card. For this project I used a #12 Ranger manila craft tag, and sealed it on the sides after Distress staining it and folding it to make a festive gift card holder. 

The black tag slides out to reveal a gift card, and I wrote my birthday message on the back of the tag: 

I added a little Stickles Dry Glitter to the stripes on the hat: 

And to match the fun background, made my own ribbon to go with the background by dabbing on various colors of Distress stains, crinkling it up and drying it with my heat tool. This has got to be one of the most fun cards I have made in a while!

a blog named hero challenge #20: If I could turn back time

Welcome to Challenge #20 over at A Blog Named Hero. Today's challenge was to create a card in the Shabby Chic or Vintage Style. I used some of the pretty papers and stamps from the Serenade collection to create this shabby card.
