his & hers: day 1 (distress ink watercolor backgrounds for him & her)

Just catching on my homework for the newest Online Card Class His & Hers. This is a class I have definitely been waiting for since I always need ideas for guy cards and love to find new ways to use the supplies I already have. These classes certainly inspire you to do just that. 

I have been playing with a lot of paints and Distress stains lately so I thought I would make some Distress resist backgrounds with patterns for him and her but try to keep some of the elements similar like the stamp, emboss resist and the washi.

12 tags of 2013: april

It's the end of the month, so you know what that means...I am working on my Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013 for April. I am glad I took my time with this one. It took a few tries to get the background of the tag just the way I wanted it using the Distress paints, and I am so happy with how this came out. This has been my favorite set of techniques so far:

I love this patina look for letters and numbers and metal pieces. I think this is a great technique for guy cards and I can't wait to use it on some more projects! 

simon says stamp challenge: anything goes (impression obsession)

Some of my favorite Impression Obsession products are their cover a card stamps-perfect for stamping vertically or horizontally, and there are so many great backgrounds to choose from! Here is another Mama Elephant stamp highlight for you. Today the design team is featuring the Bling set which is full of great sentiments. 

I used the sparkle and shine sentiment and gave my card it's own sparkle and shine with some gold mist and ombre painitng and of course, a few sequins!
