simon says stamp challenge: anything goes!

Time for a new challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog. This week's challenge theme is Anything Goes and the design team is using some fun and fabulous stamps from Art Impressions. I used the Many Thanks Set. What a fun font this was to color in with Inktense pencils...I hope you will play along this week and why not use some Art Impressions stamps if you have them!

Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® Wednesday Challenge Group Blog Hop!

12 tags of 2013: september

 

Starting early on this month's 12 Tags of 2013. Have you seen the tag for September yet? It uses two of my favorite products...stencils and embossing paste! I love all of the colors and the layers, and am glad to finally get tag done before the last day of the month. This month Ranger also announced Distress Paints in a perfect fall palette: Ripe Persimmon, Scattered Straw, Crushed Olive, Dusty Concord, Pumice Stone and Gathered Twigs. They are having a giveaway and all you have to do is enter your project made with these colors. So I pulled out my Distress Inks and made a fun Halloween tag. 

I love how the embossing paste looks peeking through all these fun colors: 

And the great effect that you get by layering all the stencils: 

But my favorite part of the tag this month was the ribbon. I used the eye chart and the dot fade stencils to make mine. I can definitely see making more of this ribbon to decorate Halloween treats: 

  

I was lucky enough to get my hands on all of Tim's new stencils and will be back later this week to share some cards with a few of the fun background combos (and cards) that I've made with the stencils so far.

I can't believe I am saying this, but it is entirely possible that I have TOO MANY stamps! I have decided rather that add more shelves to my space, I will offer some of my stamps (at very reasonable prices that include shipping) to folks that will give them a good home.

card drive for Grayson

Hello friends. You may recall back in January Danielle Walls started a card drive for a sweet little boy, Grayson.  He had been diagnosed with brain cancer and she had hoped to bring him some smiles with your cards.  The drive was a success! Grayson and his brother, Aydan, LOVED your cards! They received over 200! His mom, Jackie, wrote a little about the joy it brought them in her own blog post HERE.

Since then Grayson has undergone chemotherapy and had relative success in that his very aggressive tumor has not grown, but it also has not shrunk. This is hopeful news though because the chemo was at least making the tumor “behave”.

Last weekend Grayson was involved in an accident at home which has left his foot severely injured. They are unsure if it will need to be amputated or not, and the entire situation is further complicated because of his cancer.  His chemo has to be put on hold until they can decide what to do about his foot. Until then he is staying in the hospital. You can read it in Jackie’s words HERE.

Danielle is restarting the card drive for Grayson.  As before you can send cards to Grayson, his big brother Aydan, and/or the entire family.  Please NO “Get Well” cards, just funny, happy, cute encouraging cards to bring a smile to their faces.
