12 tags of 2014: april

 

 

The end of the month and a last minute creation for the 12 Tags of 2014 for April. I truly enjoy creating these tags each month and following along with Tim. The entire process is fun, and I am always learning something new. The flowers were definitely a challenge, and I love the new frameworks dies and can't wait to incorporate them into some card making! 

class for May 14 scheduled at The Ink Pad (NYC)!

My class for May has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 14th at 7:00 pm at The Ink Pad in NYC. The Random Quotes and Hashtags card class will feature stamps from these great Tim Holtz sets. We will be using lots of new products including stamps, stencils, markers and paints all while learning fun techniques.

I love the Hero Arts Fancy Dies and thought this New Love and Hello Die would make a perfectly simple card. Super easy, and the enamel dot in the center of the flower gives it a little added "cute"!

stop and go blog hop!

Good morning! If you have been hopping along today on the Stop and Go Blog hop, you should have arrived here from the blog of the fabulous Amy Kolling. 

If you are just visiting then welcome to the Stop and Go Blog hop! This hop is full of projects featuring the Neat and Tangled Stop and Go set designed by Miriam Prantner.

I just love everything about this set..the images, the stop lights and traffic sign and all the fun sentiments. There are so many possibilties, I have made 3 fun cards to share with you today. The first one is made with the traffic sign and a fun little smiley from the Kindness Matters set and a few sentiments as a reminder to slow down and relax: 

The next uses the traffic light combined with some hearts from the My Heart Sings set to make a card full of love: 

And finally a quick and easy background using the traffic light inked up with some distress inks and spritzed with water for a "bokeh" type thank you card:

simon says stamp: animal antics

I love the mixed media stamps by Nathalie Kalbach for Stampendous, and they are perfect for any type of card project. I used the big "wire" stamp from the Wired set as a backdrop for this cute critters at the dog park. They certainly seem to be having fun!

simon says stamp wednesday challenge: happy easter and/or sweet treats!

Time for a new challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog. This week's challenge is  Happy Easter and/or Sweet Treats and the design team is using products from Basic Grey. I love the colors in the Spice Market 6 x 6 pad and used the fab turquoise paper in the pack as my background after running through a texture fade and sanding it, revealing the white underneath for a fun texture and added some glossy accents to the "glass" of the gumball machine to give even more dimension to my card.

tim holtz big top: have courage

A more manly card today with the Tim Holtz Big Top set. I love all of the stamps in this set and the strong man is perfect for a fun guy card. This time I painted and stenciled some manila paper, colored and cut out the man and used some new number brads for his "barbell". The background paper is from the Motif Cardstock pack, it has kraft and white resist papers in it. I covered mine with some chipped sapphire Distress Stain.

tim holtz big top stamps = #happy!!!

I had a little fun playtime tonight with a bunch of NEW Tim Holtz stamps that arrived while I was away this weekend. Of all the releases I saw from CHA, this Tim Holtz Big Top set was the one I wanted most. I'm not sure what it is but I love everything about it, the woodcarved look of the stamps and the whimsical feel of the entire set. 

I tore off the packaging and inked it up immediately and thought it would be fun to play with a few techniques on some tags. I made this fun background with distress paints, and then used my layering stencils with Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Ripe Persimmon to create this # happy tag. This fun set is available at Simon Says Stamp now...so go get one for yourself :) I paired it with the hashtag set to make it super #happy!  I'll have some other fun stuff to share with this set during the week.
