12 tags of 2015: february

I had a very relaxing evening tonight creating my tag for the February Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015. It was so calming to sit and glue and arrange all the collage elements. Then I got to the sewing part and then remembered I DO NOT SEW!!!! So I added a few very handmade stitches, and still like the way it turned out. I changed the colors a bit so I could use this pinky red felt and distressed all my metal parts with Cracked Pistachio paint, I just had to use it on something.

Time for a new challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog. This week's challenge is Add a Little Texture and the Design Team is using Simon Says Stamp products. I guess I was still in the Valentine's Day mood with this one. This background was created by stamping the Drawn Heart stamp into texture paste and spraying with Distress Spray Stains. I stamped a few more hearts onto the card base too once the paste was dry:

tim holtz: perspective birthday card

I have been having so much fun playing with the new Tim Holtz stamps and Cracked Pistachio Distress products. I loved matching this color with the other Distress colors to see which combinations work best. This Cracked Pistachio and Vintage Photo combo seems to be perfect for a guy card, and I can't wait to try it on some more projects! 

To make this card, I painted a panel of manila card stock with the Cracked Pistachio paint. Once the paint was dry I stamped and embossed the numbers from the Perspective stamp set with Vintage Photo embossing powder. The sentiment was embossed in white and then I went over it with Vintage Photo Distress Spray stain. And the yummy cupcake? Distress markers of course!
