This week the them for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is OMBRE. I knew I wanted to make something with the new Wilted Violet Distress Ink. I made a panel of watercolor paper with Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac and Victorian Velvet, then I cut out the stars with the Neat and Tangled Shooting Stars die.
The shine sentiment is from a new Neat and Tangled set, called Bible Journaling designed by my talented crafty friend Miriam. There are so many great words in this set...I have so many ideas for using them in my art journal and other mixed media projects.

Today I have a Wicked Spooky Mini Configurations box to share with you. I just love all of the new Tim Holtz Halloween Idea-ology, especially these Boneyard Resin Skulls, which are the perfect Halloween topper to the Found Relatives with smaller faces.
This box was a pretty easy one to make, since I took most of the inner boxes out and combined the small boxes on the bottom to look like one.
I loved adding all the little details to the project, especially the little skulls:
The little spider (painted with Black Soot Distress Paint) and his web:
And some fun multicolor letterpress:

This week the them for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is LOVE THIS TECHNIQUE. There are so many techniques and products I love out there. But the one thing I am pretty obsessed with at the moment is texture paste. I still find it fun every time I use it. I love the paste sprayed with Distress Stain, and with so many stencils in my stash there is no limit to the fun backgrounds I can make with texture paste.
To create my tag, I applied texture paste thru the Dina Wakely HALVES stencil and let it dry. Then I sprayed away with Distress Stain in Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon and Shaded Lilac.

Fabulous Fall Mixed Media Cards 7-9:15 pm @ The Ink Pad
I know it certainly does not feel like fall in the NYC area this week, but I'll be teaching another installment of Mixed Media Cards with a "fall-ish" color palette at The Ink Pad this month. It's STAMPtember® over at Simon Says Stamp...and that means all good things including new stamps and collaborations with some wonderful stamp companies. Today I'm joining in on the STAMPtember® celebration and creating with this new Tim Holtz exclusive set. I love the size of these blueprint stamps and their fun sentiments, perfect for card making. Here's a closer look at the images:
I decided to pick four of the images and make them into cards with backgrounds inspired by some of my favorite Tim Holtz Tags of 2013, 2014 and 2015.
The first card features a cut out camera that was inspired by Tim's November 2013 tag. I remember making this tag using the camera blueprint and cutting out and layering it, and I used my own finished tag as inspiration for this card:
One of my favorite backgrounds ever was on this year's January tag...I made a bright crinkly colored panel as the base of this birthday card.
The next inspiration was the bubbly background from the July 2014 tag. I love this look and it even works great with a simple seashell...
And finally a card that has a background inspired by the January 2013 tag. I loved those gears, and I cut them from metallic card stock this time to make my card easy to send through the mail. They are a super fun background for the clock stamp.
