simon says stamp monday challenge: take a leap into the unknown

Happy Leap Day! This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is take a leap. This could be taking a leap into anything, a new technique, taking the leap into marriage or just about anything else you've always wanted to try. 

This week I made a quick and easy card for a friend who is about to start a new chapter in her life. The background was made with a piece of paper from the Project Life Sweet Edition 6 x 6 pad, and I added a heart stamped onto paper from the same pad with the Dina Wakley Collaged Hearts set and finished it off with an inspiring sentiment from the Mama Elephant labeled messages set.

simon says stamp monday challenge: inspired by a song

This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is Inspired by A Song. Pearl Jam was my inspiration this week. I was inspired this week by the music playing in my studio as I was creating. I made this Framed Panel with Distress Paints and spattered on Black Soot Distress paint with a Distress Splatter brush to give it a grungy look. I added even more layers to my background with the Bubble and Stars Layering Stencils.

simon says stamp monday challenge: recycle style

This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is Recycle Style. This week I used an empty paper towel roll as a "tool" to stamp on my gelli plate. 

I love playing around with any new tool for mark making. I have stamped with a paper tube before, but when you stamp and print using your gelli plate, you get an entirely different look. I stamped with picket fence distress paint and printed onto my tag. Once the paint was dry, I layered over it with Distress inks and the Tim Holtz Plus layering stencil and Wildflower stamps. The sentiment is from the new Tim Holtz Ponderings set.

simon says stamp monday challenge: ray of sunshine

This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is RAY OF SUNSHINE and the design team is using Dina Wakley products. I used this big heart stamp from the Handwritten Heart set and created rays of sunshine with some stenciling using the sun from The Basics stencil and cut the heart out of metallic card stock. A few chit chat and big chat stickers to make a sentiment that fits perfectly with the card...
