n*studio stampendous blog hop

I am so happy to be joining Stampendous for the Nathalie Kalbach and friends blog hop this week! If you are not familiar with Nat's stamps, then you are in for a treat. There are loads of inspirational projects with the n*studio stamps over on the Stampendous blog this week along with prizes to be won! Stampendous is offering three prize packages that consist of ALL THREE of the foam/cling/stencil sets. Anyone is eligible to win (even internationally). Now onto my project. I used the Urban Scribble foam stamp to make my card. I stamped the stamp with Archival Ink and used watercolor paints to color in in.  The stamp is bigger than the card size I usually make, so I cut it up an layered it to fit. I did not add a sentiment to my card, but I think there are so many fitting ones that would work! After a ton of catching up on life and cleaning out in the crafty space, I'm back to creating. No better way to get inspired than creating my Tim Holtz tag for April. I am totally in love with the woodgrain paper and can't stop making tiny little mosaic pieces. For this month's tag, I made a little seahorse and turned the grain on the woodgrain paper in the opposite direction to make some "waves". I created a few more waves using some Industrious stickers colored with alcohol inks. And the shiny background on my tag? Let's just say I may have gotten carried away with the Distress Mica Spray!

simon says stamp monday challenge: show us your metal

This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is Show Us Your Metal. 


I created my card base and most of the die cut pieces from Reverse Confetti Cuts flowers for Mom dies and Tim Holtz Kraft Core Metallic Paper. I made some coordinating Distress Woodgrain Cardstock with Distress Spray stains in Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean and Tarnished Brass. I also used the stains and some tissue wrap to create my flower. I substituted the traditional flower center with one of the Hello Love Resin Embellishments to finish off my card.

simon says stamp monday challenge: butterfly beauty

This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is BUTTERFLY BEAUTY. I used this challenge to have some playtime with one of my favorite stamp sets from Dina Wakley, Scribbly Insects.  I made the tag backgrounds by smooshing some watered down Dina Wakley Media paints and added some texture with the Mini Favorites and Bendy Pinwheels stencils. I painted my butterflies loosely and cut them out and added some coordinating sentiments from the Handwritten Quotes stamp set. I hope you will pull out some butterflies from your stash and play along with us!

n*studio: urban scribble stamps

Get those May flowers ready to send out in April. Florals, greenery, and springtime blooms abound in this card class, ranging from elegant beauty to fun and adorable. You will use stamps, dies, and a gorgeous array of spring colors while creating with  stamps from some of Cheiron's favorite companies including Hero Arts, Mama Elephant and Neat & Tangled. We will be experimenting with a variety of coloring mediums too!

simon says stamp monday challenge: april showers bring may flowers

This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is April Showers bring May flowers. Our April has been really cold so far, so I decided to skip right ahead to the flowers! 

I wanted to achieve a painty look with these Winnie and Walter In Bloom Annas Floral stamps.  I painted my tag with a layer of Dylusions paint in Calypso Teal. I then stamped my flower images in white ink, and painted over them with other colors of Dylusions paints. Once the paint was dry, I stamped over the painted images in Archival Black ink.

simon says stamp monday challenge: try to resist

This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is Try to Resist and the design team is using Ranger products and showing off some of their favorite resist techniques. 

I love resist with embossing powder especially with Distress Spray Stains. What an easy way to create a background. This week I used the Tim Holtz Halftone and Rings Stamps to create my background and went over it with Distress Spray Stains in Mermaid Lagoon, Twisted Citron and a bit of Distress Mica Spray in Tarnished Brass. I finished off the tag with images from Dina Wakley's Gals and Borders set.
