Time for another last minute Tim tag. I love the watercolor resist technique and wonder why I don't use it more often! I used my Alphanumeric dies to make my own CRABBY word for this one...

This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is Flora and Fauna. Definition: Flora is plant life; fauna refers to animals. The handiest way to remember flora and fauna is that "flora" sounds like flowers, which are part of the plant world, and fauna sounds like "fawn," and fawns are part of the animal kingdom.
This week to create my canvas I used some Mixed Media Board, painted with Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon Paints. I added some texture paste using the Mini Layering 8 stencils, and removed some of the Mermaid Lagoon paint using the Mini Layering 4 stencils. Some stamping in black soot Distress paint with the Halftone and Rings stamps. Then I layered on the Wildflowers and Butterfly Frenzy dies and added some more layers using Distress Crayons. See links to all supplies below.
Be sure to stop back and play along with us in a new challenge each Monday!

Welcome to "The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge" Blog Hop. Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker loves to color and she is hosting her fifth 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE. The premise of the challenge is to color something everyday even if it’s for five minutes. It doesn’t matter what you color or what medium you use. Today Kathy has assembled a blog hop to give your creativity a jump start with some very talented ladies.
At the end of the hop you will find an awesome GIVEAWAY from Hero Arts. 2 shopping sprees of $25.00 each! Yay. (winners will be randomly picked from the blog comments of the blog hop).
You should have arrived here from the blog of the super talented Heather Doran. If you have missed any stops along the hop, the full list is below.
I am happy to be participating in Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge Blog hop with my Hero Arts Hostess sisters and some very talented Hero Arts Artists and friends. I hope you'll hop along and check out everyone's coloring and a chance to win a Hero Arts Shopping Spree! Hero Arts were the very first stamps I ever bought and the Hero Arts Hostesses were the first group of gals who really got me involved in a stamping group online.
For my project today, I decided to use one of the stamp sets that was featured in one of the My Monthly Hero Kits a couple of months back, Marianne's Flowers (these flowers are so fun to color) along with a sentiment from the Acts of Kindness set. All supplies are linked below :) The next stop on the hop is the blog of the wonderfully creative Sarah Moerman, I am sure she has something fabulous for you to check out over on her blog.
ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CHALLENGE:
Kathy from The Daily Marker is hosting her fifth coloring challenge called, “The Daily Marker 30 Day” it’s a super fun challenge and a great way to get full use of your supplies. (When sharing use #TheDailyMarker30Day so Kathy can find your work)
THE GOAL IS: To color something daily even if it's a few minutes but, certainly not required. It’s been proven that coloring can lower your blood pressure so it’s worth carving out a little time for yourself each day. You will find that Kathy encourages you along the way to stretch your creativity a little bit more and to feel successful with your coloring.
CAN YOU PARTICIPATE in the 30 DAY CHALLENGE? Yes! that would be awesome if you want to participate & feel free to jump in at any time during the challenge! Everyone is welcome! If you miss a few days don’t feel like you have to catch up. The challenge is meant to be fun and with no stress.
QUESTIONS? Here is a video that might clear them up https://youtu.be/cybppt_JgoU

Happy 4th Everyone! I have had my United States die for a while now, but had never used it. When I saw this AMAZING Across the Miles card from Shari Carroll over on the Simon Says Stamp Blog, I knew I had to try out her technique for myself. Applying all the states to the acetate is genius, and I will definitely be using this die a lot more in the future, now that I know an easier way!
To make my card, I used the same technique as Shari did in her video but I had colored my paper before I cut it out:
When it was done, I applied some occasions chit chat stickers, a mirrored star colored with Mushroom alcohol ink and a few mini fasteners on some of the corrugated textured surfaces.

This week the theme for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is RED WHITE AND/OR BLUE
You can choose one, two or all three colors, it is your choice! This week we are showcasing Indigoblu and the Design Team is using their products. CLICK HERE to see the whole range! Our fabulous teamie, Barbara Schiassi made this lovely graphic for us to use as inspiration.
I created my tag this week using some cork textured surfaces as a base and spraying with them with Distress Stains in Mermaid Lagoon and Candied Apple. I used the same stains to color in my Reverse Confetti Happy Pretty Panels die and stamped it with a sentiment from the Whole Lotta Happy set. I then added these cute little pups from the Indigo Blu Duke’s Gang stamps, watercolored in using Distress Inks in Mermaid Lagoon and Candied Apple.
Be sure to stop back and play along with us in a new challenge each Monday!

I'll be teaching TWO classes this month at The Ink Pad in NYC - a mixed media class and the first in a new series called "Let's Explore" where we will be exploring a new line of products and/or mediums each month. If you are in town, I hope you will join me for a Friday night of fun. We always have a great time! Please call the store directly at 212-463-9876 to reserve your spot at the class table.
Summer Mixed Media Mini Canvases
Friday, July 15th 7:00 - 9:30 pm
Join Cheiron to create 4 mini Tim Holtz Burlap panels. Our theme for these panels will be summer and we will incorporate lots of paints, paste, stencils, die cuts and more create colorful, textured summer mini works of art. You will have fun learning different Distress techniques on each panel. These panels are great to display as a set, or use them on their own for an inspirational gift for a friend.
Lets Explore: Watercolor Mediums
Friday, July 29th 7:00-9:30 pm
There are a lot of great watercolor mediums sold at The Ink Pad. You may have a few of them, all of them, or maybe have not collected any of them yet and are just curious about how they work. Cheiron will lead you through a night of creative exploration where you will learn about the basic supplies, various products, different techniques and everything else you need to know to get started with this popular medium. There will be no finished project in this class, however, there will be samples on hand to learn how these techniques can fit into your future crafty projects.
