creativation (CHA) 2017: tim hotlz idea-ology project

Just a quick share of a project that I had made for Tim Holtz's Idea-ology booth this year...so many fun new things on here including Paper Dolls, Clippings, Quote Chips, Ruler Pieces and Stars. Being a Jersey Girl, my inspiration for this piece with the fun game wheel was Atlantic City...this couple reminds me of those old pictures you see of the boardwalk. creativation (CHA) 2017: tim holtz sizzix projects

Finally popping in to share samples of some of the projects I created for the Tim Holtz/Sizzix booth. You can see a video of the booth and Tim showing my house project around the 5:25 minute mark and my cards around the 7:06 minute mark here:

 

The first, and probably one of my favorites...these rainbow colored Tiny Houses. These were made by constructing the tiny houses out of chipboard, then covering them with watercolor paper that had been dipped into drops of Distress Spray stain. Lots of stitching and stars to add contrast and roofs made of corrugated textured surfaces painted black. Those beautiful bold Broadway letters are also new. I think I'll be using them a lot on some other projects. 

I also worked with 2 new texture fades to create some cards. The first is with the Roses texture fade, and I created a background with lots of Distress Crayon:

I also created a shaker card using the Flourish texture fade...I think it would be perfect for a wedding.

concord & 9th: love always bundle

So happy to be guest posting for Concord & 9th's newest release. Today I am featuring the Love Always Bundle and Happy Card Frame dies to make this fun filled shaker card. I colored the heart stamp in with Distress Markers, spritzed it and stamped it on some watercolor paper then used the frame die and the Love Always die to create the pretty love frame. 

I love the little strip of hearts that comes with the Love Always die as well, I used the little hearts that punch out as an element within my shaker....they are the perfect size! 

There are so many possibilities with this set. I hope you enjoyed my take on it!

concord & 9th: colorful best banners card

I am beyond thrilled to be sharing this colorful card as part of my guest designer spot for Concord & 9th this month! I love all of their stamps, and this best banner set is no exception. For me it is the perfect set to celebrate almost any occasion, and for this card it was a great way to celebrate for no reason whatsoever and send out a fun and happy reminder to someone special !

There are so many possible combinations for banners (plain/dots/stripes) and mixing them with lots of colors was so fun to do. And I love the tiny little heart...

neat and tangled: january release recap (now available!)

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for all your wonderful comments this week, they have been very much appreciated!  The January release is now available in the N&T store, but before you head over there, here's a recap of my projects for this week:

 

neat and tangled: floral heart

It's day four of the January Neat and Tangled release and today we are featuring the Floral heart set. This set is great for Valentine's day and to send love the whole year through. Make sure you check back tomorrow to see the wrap up of the entire release and to see the winners of this week's giveaways! 

For this card, I colored a watercolor panel with Distress spray stains, then spritzed and blotted it with a towel for a spotted effect. I added some splatters of gold paint to finish it off. I embossed the floral heart in gold, and colored it in the same way that I colored the panel, then adhered it to make a little window with the 'I love you' message peeking out from underneath. I mounted it all onto a gold notecard to create an extra special Valentine card.

neat and tangled: calathea

Hi there! It's Day 3 of the Neat and Tangled January release, and today we have a wonderful layering stamp set for you called Calathea. I absolutely love all of the layering sets from Neat and Tangled and this one is no exception. There are so many possibilities with this one (solids, outlines and accents) to make your cards come to life! 

To create this card, I used both of the solid parts and stems to make this bright leaf pattern, then added a little splatter using the same inks colors as a watercolor by putting the ink on a non stick craft sheet and picking it up with a water brush to create a splatter effect. I added the sentiment on one of the banners from the Scalloped dies for a quick and simple card. I love this vibrant color combo, and have so many other colors in mind for this set. neat and tangled: love notes

Hi there, today we are on Day 2 of the January Neat and Tangled release and I am sure you are going to love this adorable Love Notes set. So many great words, shapes and hearts to mix and match to create fabulous Valentine's cards and other notes of love. 

To create my card, I (very carefully) stamped the entire background panel in shades of reds and pinks with the little XO stamp. I then stamped my sentiment onto a small stitched rectangle panel and mounted it onto a vellum piece that was cut using the Scalloped dies. I hope you like this fun Valentine!
