tim holtz: summer movie hipster

You know I love making Hipster Animals (especially their glasses)! I thought why not make a hipster with some 3D glasses? Hope you like this fun movie going hipster as much as I do! 

To make his glasses I cut them out 3 times and layered them together. The first layer was all white paper, the second layer I added the glasses in white paper again, but put the stamped eyes on top of the first layer of lenses. For the third layer, I did another pair of glasses and added lenses in blue and red vellum. 

 

The background was made by blending Distress Oxides in Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber and Broken China onto a panel of Distress Mixed Media Heavystock. I then water stamped the blended panel with the Scribbles set.

tim holtz: hipster vignette tray

I have been cutting out Hipsters like a mad woman, I just can't stop. I love coloring them in and giving them different color accessories, especially the glasses. For this project I thought why not put all the hipsters in one place? They fit perfectly in this vignette tray! I gave each one a special pair of glasses and a sentiment that I thought was appropriate for each hipster.

tim holtz: create art hipster

You already know I love the Tim Holtz hipster animals, but now I have even more of a reason to take them out and play. Sizzix and Tim have a "get hip for summer" promotion going on now until July 21 with plenty of ways to win, and they will be selecting a winner every Friday! You can read all the details here. 

I created a card with this cool cat and made him even more hip for summer by giving him sunglasses! I love the detail on these Hipster stamps and all of their co-ordinating dies. Once I had them out on my table, I realized I should stamp and cut a bunch of them so there will be more hipsters to share :)

neat and tangled: exploding blocks

It's Day 4 of the Neat and Tangled release and today I am showcasing the new Exploding Blocks die. There are so many possibilities with this die and I had lots of fun making this card. I die cut a panel in white and several other colors and paper pieced a bunch of sections with pops of color, and added foam tape to the pieces that would be closest to the viewer. A lot of effort, but a super fun look in the end.

It's Day 3 of the Neat and Tangled release and today's set is just perfect for moving (or expanding) your home. I love that this set is great for lots of happy life moments including buying a home and welcoming a new little bundle of joy! For my card, I made a 'We're Moving' note card. I blended some Distress Ink in the background to created a sunset and added a few little trees from the Lumberjack Love set, the perfect backdrop for my wooden sign.

Hi there! Welcome to Neat & Tangled's June release week. There is so much fun in store for you this week! Today we are featuring the Bloom set and you are just going to love the beautiful florals and handwritten font in this set. I used the border to create a focal frame on my card and die cut all the individual blooms and colored them in with Copic markers. I finished the card off by adding some shine with a clear Wink of Stella pen and a few white Nuvo drops.
