simon says stamp monday challenge: time out

 

 

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Flower Power Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :) 

 

This week the challenge is Time Out and I've created a fun card about my favorite time of day, happy hour! What better way to celebrate this fun time of day than with these super cute Mini Cocktail Blueprints stamps from Tim Holtz. 

 

I love these planks dies and couldn't wait to make a background out of them. To begin, I cut out the planks and colored them in with a wash of Hickory Smoke Distress Ink and Black Soot Distress Paint attached each of them to my card with foam tape. 

 

To create more interest on the panel, I used the Distress Splatter Brush to splatter on paints in Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon and Picket Fence to coordinate with the cocktails.  

 

Then I stamped the cocktail stamps using Jet Black Archival ink and cut them with stitched rectangle dies. I colored them in with Distress Inks that I pressed onto my craft sheet and picked up with a waterbrush. Once that was done, I inked the edges with Distress Ink. 

 

To finish off my card, I added the cocktails to the card using foam tape and used a sticker from the Snarky Small Talk stickers that I mounted on some metallic kraft stock. I love the look of these fun planks for a background and am sure I will be using them a lot more in the near future!

This week the challenge is FLOWER POWER and I've cuts tons of Tim Holtz Funky Florals to create my pretty thank you card this week. I cut and layered flowers, leaves and greenery from the Funky Floral 1 and Funky Floral 2 die sets to create the focal point for my card and topped it with a bold thanks from the Shadow Script 2 die set. I used a lot of dies, but they were so easy to cut out with my Sidekick :)

I took the easy way out this week and used this awesome Hello Sunshine set from Altenew and created a fun background with a bit of my own watercolor doodling in the form of dots and dashes :) I finished up the fun pattern with a bold sentiment and some Ebony Black Nuvo drops. I can't wait to send this one to a friend.

Today is Day 4 of the Neat and Tangled Release and today I am featuring the Inlaid Squares Cover Plate. There are so many possibilities with this one...leave the squares in or out or just partially in for three totally different looks! My card today has all of the Inlaid Squares cut out, placed over a bright alcohol inked background and covered with fun, colorful sequins!  All of the items that I've shown this week will be in the Neat and Tangled shop tomorrow :)

This week the challenge is A Trio of Something and we are using products from Dyan Reaveley. You don't have to use these products, but we would love it if you do! I've used a trio of stencils (and paint) to create the background for my card and topped it off with this fun image from the Fish Faces set. I colored the image by using Dylusions Shimmer Spray as watercolors and adding some Details with the Dylusions paint pens...and of course completed the card with a snarky sentiment!
