simon says stamp monday challenge: time out

 

 

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Flower Power Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :) 

 

This week the challenge is Time Out and I've created a fun card about my favorite time of day, happy hour! What better way to celebrate this fun time of day than with these super cute Mini Cocktail Blueprints stamps from Tim Holtz. 

 

I love these planks dies and couldn't wait to make a background out of them. To begin, I cut out the planks and colored them in with a wash of Hickory Smoke Distress Ink and Black Soot Distress Paint attached each of them to my card with foam tape. 

 

To create more interest on the panel, I used the Distress Splatter Brush to splatter on paints in Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon and Picket Fence to coordinate with the cocktails.  

 

Then I stamped the cocktail stamps using Jet Black Archival ink and cut them with stitched rectangle dies. I colored them in with Distress Inks that I pressed onto my craft sheet and picked up with a waterbrush. Once that was done, I inked the edges with Distress Ink. 

 

To finish off my card, I added the cocktails to the card using foam tape and used a sticker from the Snarky Small Talk stickers that I mounted on some metallic kraft stock. I love the look of these fun planks for a background and am sure I will be using them a lot more in the near future!
