This week our challenge is Take Flight and I've created a card with some bugs that fly (and some that don't) from the Tim Holtz Entomology set. I gave it a whimsical twist with a fun sentiment created from Sizzix Alphanumeric cutout lowercase Thinlit dies.

This week our challenge is Halloween/Spooky and I've created a cute little gift bag that I'm planning to give to my co-worker with a Starbucks Card in it (since he doesn't really eat candy)...I cut the bag out with the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Treat Bag die and adhered a die cut Layered Jack O'Lantern on top. I punched a hole in either side of the top of the bag and used some twine to create a little "handle".

get cracking on christmas: october

Continuing along with my goal to 'Get Cracking on Christmas' all year long, by creating my Christmas cards with a few crafty friends throughout the year! If you want to see how it all started, go to my original post here.

This month I created a Christmas card for my favorite 12 year old in soft colors....I used the brand spanking new Mama Elephant Let's Go Caroling stamps and dies. I just love these little critters and all the fun elements in the set that help you create a scene...

 
I stamped and embossed the background with one of my favorite sets from last year, Holly's Snowflakes, then inked up the background with Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar and Dried Marigold, then stamped the sentiment. I added some glitter snow and the Framed Lafayette die, then built my singing scene inside the frame.

This week our challenge is Starry Night and I've created a fun and spooky card with a nighttime sky using Distress Resist Spray and Distress Inks. I added a mix of Sizzix dies: Tangled Twigs, Witchcraft and Vintage Spirits to finish my card.

For this release I received the Snowflake Tags Wafer Dies and the Tiny Words Christmas stamps: 

I decided to create some mini 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 inch cards using these dies and stamps. They are perfect tiny note to give with a holiday gift! I cut each tag from watercolor paper, then inked them up with Distress Oxides. Then I stamped a tiny sentiment onto each one using Archival Jet Black ink. I inlaid silver flakes cut from glitter paper into each tag then covered each one with a white flake and coordinating drop of Nuvo drops. The backgrounds were created with silver ink and the Diagonal Stripes die.

For my fun Halloween card, I used the Bat Balloon and Galaxy Galore Background cling rubber Stamps...

The Bat Balloon image was colored with Copics then fussy cut. I created the background of my card by inking up a piece of Yupo paper with Sailboat Blue Alcohol Ink. Then I used the Galaxy Galore Background along with Alcohol Lift ink to "lift" the ink off of my panel. This stamp shows wonderful detail! I also stamped the Bat Balloon image over my Galaxy Galore panel and then foam taped the fussy cut image right on top to make this card even more fun :)
