simon says stamp monday challenge: frame it

Hi crafty friends, it's time for another challenge over one the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us in last week's Stencil It Challenge and I hope you will join us again this week too! This week our challenge is Frame It and I've used a Tim Holts Idea-ology Lace Baseboard Frame to frame my Found Relative as the focal point for my Mini Etcetera Tag. 

 

I covered the tag with a piece of Worn Wallpaper using Ranger Collage Medium, then inked the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Once that was done, I added the piece of Crochet then added my Found Relative behind the Lace Baseboard Frame. I topped it with some different Ephemera and a Quote Chip. 


To finish the tag, I added some Clippings stickers, a Story Stick and a Vintage Clip to the top that I had colored with Pebble alcohol ink.

hero arts: anniversary blog hop day 2

Hello crafty friends! I'm beyond thrilled to be hopping along with Hero Arts today to celebrate their 45th Anniversary. You should have arrived here from the blog of the very talented Amy Kolling. 45 years is such an amazing accomplishment for any business, Congratulations to everyone at Hero Arts! I am proud to say that Hero Arts were the first stamps I ever bought and I still love them today. I was lucky to be a Hero Arts Hostess back in 2012, and a member of the Design Team a few years ago as well. I always enjoy all of the innovative products Hero Arts comes out with each year, and look forward to paging through each new catalog. I am so glad Hero Arts has taken some of it's older designs "out of the Vault" for this celebration. There are such wonderful images. For my card today, I have tried out the new From the Vault Flowers stamps and dies along with the brand new Reactive Ink Pads in Taffy, Lemon Drop, and Pool Party. 


To create my card, I used the Life Changing Blender Brushes to apply the inks onto a panel of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I always start with the yellow when creating a rainbow and use more than I need, because I always cover up more than I should in the end. I dried the panel with a heat tool, then gave it a couple of sprays of water using my Distress Sprayer, then blotted the panel with a paper towel. Once that was dry, I put the three inks onto my non-stick craft sheet, sprayed them with water and flicked little splatters of color onto the panel with a paintbrush. 


Once the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment. I stamped and cut the flowers several times and arranged them around the sentiment to create a focal point, layering some of the flowers with foam tape. I adhered my finished panel onto a mat of Pitch Black cardstock, then onto a Dove White Top Folding Card.

Today I am sharing cards with these perfect for warm weather Chillin' Frenchies stamps and dies. Who wouldn't want to hang out with these playful pups for the summer?!? get cracking on christmas: may 2019

Continuing along with my goal to 'Get Cracking on Christmas' all year long, by creating my Christmas cards with a few crafty friends throughout the year! If you want to see how it all started, go to my original post here.

I've been really behind this year on crafting (and everything else), but happy to get back into the swing of things this month with my friend Jenn. Be sure to visit her blog to check out the fabulous cards she has made. This month, one of the newest stamps from Neat and Tangled (available for purchase tomorrow) is the Foliage Wreath. It is absolutely gorgeous and I turned it into a super easy, clean and simple Christmas card. This card would be super easy to replicate in bulk with a stamp platform... there are also dies available to cut out the center and/or the leaves if you wanted to get really fancy :)

Welcome to Day 3 of the Neat and Tangled May Release and today are featuring the 6 X 6 cling Quilted Background by Miriam. I absolutely loved playing with this  stamp and there are so many great possibilities for backgrounds and more with it! For my card today, I stamped the background in gold embossing powder and colored it in with my Daniel Smith Watercolors. When it was dry I gave it some gold and white splatters with a paintbrush and added some coordinating enamel dots.

Hi crafty friends, it's time for another challenge over one the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us in last week's Use Something Metallic Challenge and I hope you will join us again this week too! This week our challenge is Happy Hour and I've used Tim Holtz Mini Blueprints 10 along with a Big Talk Snarky Sticker to create a fun Happy Hour card: 

 

I stamped all of the images in Jet Black Archival Ink then colored them in with Distress Inks and a Detailer Waterbrush. Once they were dry, I colored in the background with Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink and a Broad Waterbrush. I added a couple of dots of enamel accents for the pimento in the olives and gave the Bloody Marys a "salt rim" with some Sprinkled Sugar Stickles.
