simon says stamp monday challenge: tape it up

 

Hi crafty friends, it's time for another challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us in the Recycle challenge last week and we sure hope you will join us this week too! 

 

This week our challenge is Tape It Up and I used some of the black and white plaid tape from the Idea-ology Christmas Design Tape pack to create a mat for my wintery card. I blended Peacock Feathers DIstress Oxide onto a panel of DIstress Watercolor cardstock, then stamped the moose from the Into the Woods set. 

I stamped and cut out the tree and the sentiment from the Modern Christmas set. I flicked some water, white and gold watercolors onto my panel for a little holiday shine, then adhered it all together.

get cracking on christmas: november 2019

Continuing along with my goal to 'Get Cracking on Christmas' all year long, by creating my Christmas cards with a few crafty friends throughout the year! If you want to see how it all started, go to my original post here.

I'm happy to be able to share a Christmas card this month along with my friends Jenn, Chari, Libby, and Caryn. Be sure to visit their blogs to check out the fabulous cards they have made. This month, I created one special card using the adorable Winter Penguin set from Flora and Fauna stamps. I just love this little igloo, could it BE any cuter? I ink blended my background, stamped and colored and cut out all the adorable penguins, igloo and garland and arranged them on a background of tiny pine trees stamped in DIstress Oxides in Pine Needles and Mowed Lawn. To finish the card, I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white on a black sentiment strip.

Hi crafty friends, it's time for another challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us in the Thinking of You challenge last week and we sure hope you will join us this week too! 

 

This week our challenge is Recycle and I used a page of old book paper from an etiquette book that just happened to be about sending Christmas cards. To create this card, I made a background of stamped trees from the Seasonal Scribbles set and then layered on some more stamped and cut trees. Then I stamped and cut out the house and popped it up with some foam tape.

Finally getting back to finishing my Altenew Educator Program certification. Diving right back into the courses and today I have created a card inspired by the Creative Watercolor Media class. I used a technique from Debby Hughes where she painted her florals with shimmer sprays. I have several of these sprays, so I thought I would create a similar card. To create this card, I stamped and embossed the Wallpaper Art flowers and leaves and painted them with a watercolor paint brush with shimmer sprays in Puffy Heart, Coral Berry, Forest Glade, Frayed Leaf and a bit of Warm Sunshine to brighten up the leaves and flower centers. 

Once all of my leaves and flowers had dried, I die cut them and played around with the arrangement, so I knew where to put them on my card. I used a few sprays of Antique Gold shimmer spray on some black watercolor paper and stamped and embossed the sentiment from the Sincere Greetings set in gold to tie it all together.

Hi crafty friends, it's time for another challenge over one the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us in the Thanks/Thanksgiving challenge last week and we sure hope you will join us this week too! 

 

This week our challenge is Thinking of You and I used this challenge to finally try out my Tim Holtz Patchwork Bird die to make a card for a friend that loves birds (and purple) to let her know I was thinking of her. To create this card, I made a background of Distress Oxide Sprays and then stamped over them with the plaid from the Lumberjack set, leaving ink off some bits of the stamp, so the pattern was more random. 

 

I had so much fun putting this little birdie together. I used all kinds of surfaces to give it a patchwork look including the Metallic Paper Stash, the Kraft Paper stash,and even some Halloween Worn Wallpaper. I sanded and inked all of my papers, and then pieced the bird together. I added some "stitching" with a black pen to give a little more contrast to the text piece. 

I arranged the bird on a few of the Branches and added a sprig of pine from the Large Funky Festive set

Hi crafty friends, it's time for another challenge over one the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us in the Art Journaling 

 

This week our challenge is Thanks/Thanksgiving and the design team is using products from AAAL & CREATE. This week I used the House Set 1 stamp and I love the wonky illustrated style of the house in the set, but what I love even more is the sentiment, 'less house, more home'. I paired it with a Distress Oxide blended background in all the colors of the rainbow for a simple, colorful card.
