simon says monday challenge: inspired by music

Hi crafty friends, welcome to this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Thank you to all of you who played along with us last week in our Frame It Challenge and I hope you will play along with us this week in the Inspired By Music Challenge. This week I was inspired to make this card by the song we carry within us, our inner voice. I used the new DIna Wakley Gloss Sprays to make a fun colorful background, and added a little stenciling over it. I stamped and colored in an image from the Interesting Faces set using Scribble Sticks and a waterbrush.

For this card, I stamped an embossed the chandelier image in a sparkly pink embossing powder, and stamped the sentiment in white. I colored in the butterfly with Copics in all the colors of the rainbow and mounted the panel to a white notecard.

Welcome to Day 2 of the February Neat and Tangled release. Today, I have a card featuring some of my favorite colors from the new Over the Rainbow Assorted Cardstock pack and the gorgeous new Butterfly Beauties stamp set. I cut strips of the colored cardstock and adhered them to my panel, then I stamped and embossed the chandelier pattern in white embossing powder. 

I stamped the butterfly in black ink and cut it out and also stamped the sentiment in black. I only colored in the gemstone on the butterfly, and then went over it with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen.

Today I am using the new Geometric Stamps along with a sentiment from the new Butterfly Beauties set to create a quick and easy rainbow card. I stamped and embossed the diamonds and watercolored them in with my Daniel Smith watercolors. When they were dry, I cut them out and added to the card. I added a quick and easy sentiment to finish the card. 

 

SUPPLIES:

Hi crafty friends, welcome to this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Thank you to all of you who played along with us last week in our Floral Frenzy Challenge and I hope you will join us again this week. This week our theme is Crack It Up and I've created a sweet Valentine card using Tim Holtz Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint and the SIzzix Bottled Up die. 

To create this card, I started by cutting the bottles out of some Mixed Media Heavystock and painting them with DIstress Paint in Shaded Lilac, Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold mixed with a bit of Dina Wakley Glazing Medium. 

 

Once the bottles were dry, I painted over them with a VERY generous layer of Distress Rock Candy Crackle Paint. When that was dry, I inked the edges of the bottles with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. 

 

I inked up a background panel of Distress Watercolor cardstock with Antique Linen Distress Spray Stain and dried it with a heat tool. Then I stamped the entire Tiny Text stamp set onto the block by inking the entire stamp and misting it with water and pressing my inked panel on top of it. 

 

To create the "bouquets" I cut a bunch of hearts in coordinating colors from felt using the Falling Hearts dies. I also cut very tiny thin strips of Metallic Kraft Core Cardstock from the Metallic 3 pad using my Tonic Trimmer and then running them through a Xyron sticker maker so they would be easy to adhere. I die cut a strip from the Crochet 2 dies to use to ground the vases on the background. To finish off the card, I cut a tiny tag from the Sizzix Framelits Tag Collection and added a little sentiment using remnant rubs.

Hi there crafty friends. I have another Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Creativation share for you today with a super awesome stamp set that I know everyone is going to love creating with! These Snarky Cat stamps are just hilarious. If you know me, you know I just love dogs, but I also have a bit of an obsession with wacky cat stamps! I created a super easy clean and simple card with this set, coloring the cat with Distress Markers and a detailer water brush.  

Once my watercoloring was dry, I fussy cut the cat out with my Tim Holtz scissors. I also stamped it onto my watercolor then paper pieced the cut out image on top. Using a thin micron pen and a ruler, I drew in "claw marks". I stamped the sentiment onto the panel, then added it to a mat of Kraft Core cardstock and then mounted the whole thing to a main panel made of Kraft Core. 

This card was so easy to create and I can see creating an entire set of these notecards using all the cats and sentiments in the set! 

SUPPLIES: 

Hi there crafty friends! Sharing a card that I created for the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Booth for Creativation this year. The stamps are starting to hit the stores now and this Spring Shadows stamp set that I've used today is one of them. This set has so many wonderful spring images (flowers, bunnies, etc) but I was immediately drawn to the heart.

This one of the more colorful cards I made this year using one image from the Spring Shadows set. I loved the look of the silhouette heart and thought it would look great stamped in a rainbow pattern. I took a panel of Distress Watercolor cardstock and inked it up by smooshing Antique Linen Distress Ink onto my glass mat, spraying it with water and swiping my watercolor panel through it. I dried it with a heat tool and added another layer of ink and dried that as well.

Once I distressed my watercolor panel, I stamped the heart in ALL the colors of Distress Oxide. I inked the stamp up with each color of Distress Oxide that I used, gave it a light spritz of water with my Distress Sprayer, then stamped it. I cleaned the stamp with a baby wipe between each color and stamped and spritzed and cleaned in between until my panel was filled with rainbow hearts.


Once the panel was completed, I gave it a few flicks of water to move the color around a bit to make it look really distressed. I glued the panel to a card base, then I added the sentiment from the Tiny Text stamp set (another MUST HAVE from this release) to a black paper strip and embossed it in white. It really was simple to make I did not really measure and just had fun with my stamping. I just made sure to line up each row of ink pads in advance :)

This week our theme is Floral Frenzy and the design team is using products from Prima and I hope you all will give this challenge a try and share your creation with us :) For my card this week, I used the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix Bouquet die and colored it in with the Bright Colors from the Prima Pastel Dreams watercolor set (and the black from the Classics set).  

I loosely colored areas on the back panel with all of the warm colors, then when it was dry adhered the die cut panel and colored the same colors on top of it, leaving a bit of white space. When that was dry, I went back in and carefully colored in the flower centers with the black watercolor from the Classics set. 


Once the entire panel was dry, I die cut the CZ Design Miss You die and assembled it and I also cut a base out of white craft foam for dimension and adhered it behind the die before adding to the card. I added a skinny sentiment strip with a sentiment from the CZ Design Like You set to complete the card.

Hi crafty friends, welcome to this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Thank you to all of you who played along with us last week in our Floral Frenzy Challenge and I hope you will join us again this week.
