simon says stamp monday challenge: take me for a ride

Hi crafty friends, welcome to this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Thank you for joining us us for last week's Shoot for the Stars Challenge and we hope you will join us again this week for the Take Me for A Ride Challenge. 

 

This week I have created a fun bicycle card using the Stampers Anonymous Theories set. I inked up a panel of DIstress Watercolor Cardstock by putting my DIstress Inks directly onto my TIm Holtz Glass Media Mat and spraying them with water, smooshing my panel into the ink, drying it with a heat tool and adding more layers, drying in between. When the panel was dry, I Inked it with some stencils including the DIgits and Stars. Then I stamped using the Stampers Anonymous Theories stamps on the panel using DIstress Archival Black Soot Ink. 


To complete the card, I added some stitching around the panel and attached some Machinery Heads to the bicycle tires. I mounted the panel onto a panel of Black Alcohol Ink Cardstock and then to a panel of Kraft Cardstock that had been stamped with the Tiny Text stamp in Frayed Burlap ink.

Happy to be celebrating another fabulous release today from Simon Says Stamp! This new Send Happiness release is chock full of so much fun. I have few cards to share with you today. I know I shared this first one on Instagram yesterday (if you are not following me there I'd love for you to follow me @cheiron) but this new Lil' Critters Dachshund die is so adorable I had to share it here :)  I've combined it with the Heart to Heart Background which I stamped and embossed in clear embossing powder onto red cardstock and added a sentiment from the Get Well Sentiment Strips. I cut the Lil' Dachshund from Distress Watercolor Cardstock and inked over the die cut with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. 

If you like flowers you are going to love this GORGEOUS Poppies Background. For this card, stamped and embossed the poppies with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing powder. Then I painted in flowers in with watercolors and added the CZ Design With Sympathy sentiment that was cut from white cardstock and Tim Holtz Metallic Kraft Core cardstock and a few clear droplets. 

For my next card, I used the Mermaid Scales stencil and went through it with some of my favorite colors of Distress Inks and then again with some Gina K White Glitz Glitter gel. I finished the card with a bold and simple HBD die from CZ Design. 


For my last card, I used the new CZ Design Happy Days Stamps and stamped and paper pieced the stamp in rainbow colors. I placed the cut out over a white background where I stenciled texture paste through the Geo Leaves stencil with some Tim Holtz Translucent Grit Paste.

Hi crafty friends, welcome to this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Thank you for joining us us for last week's Sprays and Splashes Challenge and we hope you will join us again this week for the Shoot for the Stars Challenge. 

This week I have created a TIm Holtz Idea-ology Vignette Shrine complete with a Starry Sky made from Alcohol Ink. I started out by painting the pieces shrine with Black Soot DIstress Paint and let it dry. Then I covered the back and sides of the shrine with Typeset Collage paper which I adhered using matte DIstress Collage Medium. Once that was dry, I added accents of Blueprint Sketch and Old Paper Distress paint and dried it again and went back in lightly with a little more Black Soot paint. 


Now to create the sky. I took a piece of Alcohol Ink Yupo paper and added my favorite blues and purples and also Pitch Black. I splattered the entire background with Alcohol to create the look of stars. I cut the Yupo to fit inside the shrine along the back and the sides. I added the compass piece from the Urban Layers Ephemera pack and also added a blue center from the Junk Drawer Baseboards. 


Once those pieces were in, I added some Label tape, some Number Blocks that I colored with Distress Embossing Glaze, a Baseboard Doll and some Clippings stickers. To finish the piece, I cut several stars from the Sizzix Swirling Stars die from glitter paper and places them all around the shrine.

get cracking on christmas: june 2020

Continuing along with my goal to 'Get Cracking on Christmas' all year long, by creating my Christmas cards with a few crafty friends throughout the year! If you want to see how it all started, go to my original post here.

I'm happy to be able to share a Christmas card this month along with my friend Jenn. Be sure to visit her blog to check out the fabulous cards she has made. Today, I am using a Tim Holtz Sizzix die that I had not had a chance to play with, Feathered Friends and thought it would be fun to turn this little bird into a Christmas card. To start, I stamped the words from the Stripes and Holiday set using Gathered Twigs DIstress Ink (wiping off some of the ink with a baby wipe before I stamped). I inked the edges of the panel. Then I inked up a panel of paper using Distress Oxides in Twisted Citron, Crushed Olive and just a tiny bit of Lucky Clover and cut the wreath from it. 

For the little bird, I used my Altenew Artist Watercolors to color him in. I gave him a few layers of color, dried them with a heat tool and assembled them. I added some white gouache splatter over the card, then adhered the bird. To finish the card, I added a Christmas Clippings sticker.

This week I have made a simple card with a panel full of sprays and splashes. This card uses Distress Spray stains and Distress Paints. I layered on the stains first then added layers of color using DIstress Paint. Once all the colors were layered, I added Black Soot Distress Paint and then removed some with the Splotches and Linen stencils. I stamped the letters from the Faded Type set using Distress Archival Ink.  I dried the panel and then used a Splatter Brush to apply Picket Fence DIstress Paint. 

 

Once the paint was dry, I added some Wildflower Stems 2 dies cut from Black Alcohol Ink cardstock. To finish the card, I added a Quote Chip and some Hardware Heads.

Hi crafty friends, welcome to this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Thank you for joining us us for last week's Make Your Own Background Challenge and we hope you will join us again this week for the It's A Man Thing Challenge. 

This week I created a fun tag featuring The Professor stamp as the focal point. I used a DIstress Mixed Media Heavystock tag and swiped it through a few layers of Speckled Egg Distress Oxide that I had sprayed with my Distress Sprayer. Then I used some Rusty Hinge DIstress Oxide through the Countdown stencil. I added a bit of Typeset Collage paper to one side of the tag using DIstress Collage Medium and a brush. 

Once that was done, I used the Stampers Anonymous Mini Glitch set and all my sets of Archival DIstress Inks (Set 1, Set 2 and Set 3) to stamp in different colors all over the background. I love the vibrant colors, and only wish there were more! Once all the stamping was done I inked the edges of the tag with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. 


I stamped, cut out and colored in The Professor with some Distress Markers, and added him to the tag. Once that was completed, I added a Quote Chip to finish the tag.

Hi crafty friends, welcome to this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Thank you for joining us us for last week's Circles Challenge and we hope you will join us again this week for the Make Your Own background Challenge. 

 

This week, I wanted to spend some time creating with my Speckled Egg Distress Oxide. I inked up a DIstress Mixed Media Heavystock tag with Speckled Egg DIstress Oxide, then I blended Crushed Olive DIstress Oxide through the Digits stencil and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide through the Stitches stencil. I stamped some text using the Ledger Script stamps and Vintage Photo Archival Ink. 

 

Once my background was completed, I built up the layers on my tag. I added some Field Notes Ephemera, a Milk Cap, a butterfly from the Field Notes Snippets that had been inked with Walnut Stain DIstress Ink using DIstress Collage Medium. I cut a Wildflower 2 stem out of DIstress Mixed Media Heavystock, then I sprayed it with Chipped Sapphire Distress Spray Stain, once that was dry, I added some texture with Distress Resist Spray. I added the Photobooth photo, and adhered a Tiny Clip to it. 


To finish off the tag, I added Clippings stickers, and then added a tiny heart from the Treasures Adornments that had been colored with Alcohol Ink.
