This week I used the 'x-ray' as inspiration for the photo prompt and created my card with a stamp from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Examination set on an inky background stamped with Distress Archival Inks.

Here's a little peek at what I created with the kit. And I definitely have supplies to make several more creepy projects :) To create this project, I started by covering the Vignette Coffin with Worn Wallpaper (for the inside) and the Tanzanite cardstock (for the outside and the back of the coffin). I inked the edges of all the pieces with Black Soot Distress Ink before applying them to the coffin with Matte Medium. Now for the fun part! I added some of the Halloween Accents with Matte Medium into the top and the outsides of the coffin. On the top part, I added the mummy cloth which I sprayed with Antique Linen Distress Spray Stain, and then mixed with a bit of moss from my stash. I added the Boneyard Findings bones, and topped them off with some of the Nuvo drops to make them extra spooky. 




I added an Apothecary vial (from my stash) and also attached the Bitty Bats with the Black Stamen to make them look like they are flying out of the coffin. 


For the bottom portion of the coffin, I added an image from the Vellum Haunts where I tore the corners off and inked the edges with my Black Soot DIstress Ink and added a Halloween Quote Chip to finish the project.

For my project this week, I created a simple tag with a background of Distress Oxide Sprays (I used Old Paper and Speckled Egg) and some Frayed Burlap DIstress Spray Stain. I built up a few layers of spray, drying in between each one. When the tag was dry, I got to stamping. I used a ton of images from the Stampers Anonymous Ladies and Gentlemen stamp set, stamping them all in Distress Archival Ink. Then I inked the edges of the tag with Walnut Stain DIstress Ink. To finish the tag, I added some MIni Gears, Sprocket Gears and a Quote Chip that I secured with Hardware Heads.

Altenew Geometry & Nature Stencils Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there crafty friends! Today I am thrilled to be part of the Altenew Geometry & Nature Stencils Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. You should have arrived here from the blog of the wonderfully talented Norine Borys...

There are so many awesome new stencils in this release and I had a chance to play with a few of them for this hop. There are so many great designs that will be sure to become staples in your stencil collection. You can see all of the new stencils HERE. Today I have created five different cards for you playing around with a number of different styles...I hope you find something you like! 

The first card uses the new Mighty Corners stencil paired with more muted colors for a retro feel...I completed the card with a popped up Hello from the Bold Greetings die that I cut from multiple layers of cardstock. 

For my second card, I used shimmer sprays and water with the Modern Circles Stencil to make a monoprint onto the paper...simply spray the sprays onto the stencil, mist with water and flip the stencil onto your paper. Place a paper towel over the stencil and press down, then lift.  The paper towel is what will help the open spaces remain free of spray :) I combined this colorful panel with a sentiment from Mega Label Love to keep it simple. 

For my third card, I applied ink in rainbow colors through the Sphere stencil, and added a big bold hi that I cut from the Bold Alphabet die. I cut a small strip and stamped a sentiment from the Hello Sunshine stamp set, and added a few enamel dots. 



For this card, something a bit different. I used the Leaf Drops stencil along with some gel medium to create a resist for my Lagoon Metallic Shimmer Spray. Once the panel was dry, I added some Jet Black spray splatter. I stamped and colored and die cut the flowers from the Wallpaper Art stamps and dies and colored them in with Watercolor Brush Markers. Then I embossed the sentiment in white on a black cardstock strip. 



For my final card, I made something a little more artsy using Embossing Paste and Antique Gold embossing powder through the Color Block Triangle stencil. I stamped and embossed the flower from Ornate Foliage set and colored it in with Metallic Watercolors on black watercolor paper.  Then I  stamped and embossed a greeting from the set to finish the card.

get cracking on christmas: september 2020

Continuing along with my goal to 'Get Cracking on Christmas' all year long, by creating my Christmas cards with a few crafty friends throughout the year! If you want to see how it all started, go to my original post here.

Today, I am sharing a card that I created with someone in mind. I make a lot of Christmas cards throughout the year, and this one is for a friend who I really miss having cocktails with. It uses the new Tim Holtz Sizzix Papercut Christmas Santa. I love the jolly look of this fella and wouldn't he be even jollier with some holiday cheer!?! I sure think so, I paired him up with a special Holiday Martini Cut from the Happy Hour dies and garnished it with the holly from the Winter Wardrobe dies.

Hi crafty friends, welcome to this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Thank you for joining us us for last week's use your favorite stamp challenge and celebrating Stamptember with us! This week our challenge is Frame It and I have used the Tim Holtz Deco Frames along with the Halloween Idea-ology Curiosities Sticker Book as the focal point of my tag...they work perfectly together!

Creating the background for my tag was easy....I used a piece of Worn Wallpaper and adhered it to a tag that I cut from the Sizzix Stacked Tags and layered onto another tag cut from Distress Mixed Media Heavystock. I stiched loosely around the edges and then built up some layers with Halloween Baseboards and Halloween Ephemera. 


To finish my tag, I added a Clippings sticker (included in the sticker book), Heirloom Florals, Heirloom Roses and used a Splatter Brush to Splatter DIstress Paint in Black Soot and Crackling Campfire. As the final touch, I tied a piece of Mummy Cloth to the tag that I had colored black using Black Soot DIstress Spray Stain.

Today I am using what is sure to be a new favorite set of mine from the Stamptember release, the Simon Says Stamp/CZ Design Halloween People. I paired this set with the new Fractured background that I embossed in white and inked it up in Crackling Campfire, Wilted Violet and Black Soot Distress Inks and spritzed it with water to give it a spooky vibe. I added a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Halloween Paper Doll and a Bitty Bat and some Soft Black Pearls from Lucy's Cards to finish my card.

Hi there crafty friends! It's the most wonderful time of the year...STAMPtember® and I am thrilled to be joining Simon Says Stamp in a blog party to celebrate. Hope you will go take a look around at all the designers joining the party to celebrate this amazing new release. Today I have a trio of cards for you using the new products I received from Simon, and they all use the new Detail Elm Leaves die. Before we get to the cards, I want to point out the special code up above for a fun shopping discount good today while supplies last! Make sure you visit the other blogs joining the  party because there are a bunch of different codes, each with a different offer! 

For my first card, I created a 'frame' of fall leaves using the Detail Elm Leaves die. I die cut a bunch of the leaves and colored them with Distress Ink Reinkers in Tattered Rose, Fossilized Amber, Crackling Campfire and Seedless Preserves.  I paired it with the Detail Petal Plate wafer die and a sentiment from the CZ Design Miss You Missy set on a panel of Pale Rose cardstock. 


For my second card, I also cut a bunch of leaves using the Detail Elm Leaves die and adhered them to a Distress Watercolor card stock panel and trimmed off the excess. I sprayed the panel with water using a Distress Sprayer and then added layers of Distress Spray Stain in Crackling Campfire, Gathered Twigs and Peacock Feathers. Then I splattered the panel with Distress Mica Spray in Antiqued Bronze. I added a sentiment from the Greetings Mix 2 stamp set that I embossed with Gold Embossing powder and layered onto a vellum circle. 



For my final card, I was really feeling fall and used the Old Letter Background to make a background paper for my card. I adhered that to a panel that I had inked with Distress Spray Stains and added a Tiny Clip to the outside. I finished the panel by cutting out the Detail Elm Leaves and embossing them in Crackling Campfire and Walnut Stain Distress Embossing Glaze, it makes them look like a shiny embellishment. Then I added a sentiment from the new Tiny Words Support stamps. I adhered the layered panel to a piece of Woodgrain Cardstock.
