simon says stamp monday challenge: let's be on time

Hello crafty friends! It's time for another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge...this week our theme is Let's Be On Time! I have created a snarky tag for you with a sentiment that reads, "That's a horrible idea. What time?". It may be stretching the theme a bit, but that is what a challenge is all about isn't it? I did add a clock to the background :)

january 2021: let's get cracking on christmas

Hi there crafty friends! Welcome to the very first Get Cracking on Christmas of 2021. This is a fun monthly challenge that was started by my friend Jenn Shurkus to challenge people to work on their Christmas cards all year long. I know that my biggest problem last year was addressing ALL the envies, and I also ran out of cards so I was making them at the last minute too.

I am sure I will make some batches of Christmas cards during the year, but today I wanted to take some time and try out a fun technique from one of the Tim Holtz Holiday Demos that I did not get to try out last year. This technique was called Holiday Happy Hour, and I did something similar here for Halloween with spooky cocktails. For this card, I wanted to copy Tim's cocktails as closely as possible and pair them with a sentiment from the Bold Tidings 1 stamp set.

To create this card, I used the Happy Hour Thinlits dies and cut them out of different colors of Metallic cardstock that I had adhered to Sizzix Adhesive Sheets. The adhesive is double sided and it makes layering these dies super easy (and no glue mess). I also added some seasonal dies from the Winter Wardrobe and Mini Christmas Things (sadly discontinued) dies sets. Then I added a stamped sentiment from the Bold Tidings 1 stamp set and embossed it in Gold Embossing Powder. I adhered the panel to a piece of kraft color Mixed Media Heavystock. Hope this card will bring some cheer to a friend next year!

simon says stamp monday challenge: on a roll

Hi there crafty friends! Welcome to the latest Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week we are On A Roll and are challenging you to add wheels, cogs, paper rolls, circles, balls, anything round/circular you can think of, to your project! I added some circles, but also one of my favorite Snarky Small Talk Stickers "I'm sorry, did I roll my eyes out loud".

I created my tag by applying Distress Paints in Picked Raspberry, Picket Fence and Cracked Pistachio. I built up layers with some stamping using the Grunged, Faded Type and Stitches stamps and the Stars Layering Stencil. I added some stitching, Photobooth, a Snarky Small Talk sticker and some tiny clips.

simon says stamp: love you and love you, too release blog hop day 1

Hello there crafty friends! I am super excited to once again be joining Simon Says Stamp in a blog hop to celebrate their newest releases - Love You and Love You, Too! You should have arrived here from the blog of the amazingly talented Sidnie DesJardins.

I'm not sure about you, but I am already in full swing making Valentine's cards. Today, I am doing one of my favorite things to do with new stamps - using one stamp from the new release 3 different ways, and this time it's the new XOXO Background Cling stamp:

For my first card, I stamped the XOXO Background onto black card stock and embossed with Pink embossing powder. I added part of a Reverse Slimline Love Sentiment Strip and two of the Mini Interactive Envelope dies. I stamped a some sentiments from the Inside Friendship Messages stamp set onto the little card on the open envelope.

For the second card, I stamped the XOXO Background and embossed it in gold. I added some gold and black splatter to the card and some metallic thread to add texture and interest, then I added an Etched Linear Heart die cut from Metallic Kraft Stock. I finished the card by adding a piece of a Reverse Slimline Love sentiment strip and another XO embossed in white on black and some clear droplets.

For my final card, I created a watercolor background look by inking up a panel with my Distress Inks in rainbow colors and spraying it will a mist of water, then stamping the XOXO Background stamp onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock using DIstress Oxides. I cut the panel with the Wonky Rectangles die and added the Love Your Guts die along with a tiny heart from the Mini Hearts Party Die.

Hi crafty friends, welcome to this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week our challenge is Shake It Up and I have created a fun shaker tag for you using a Sizzix dimensional dome. I inked, stenciled and stamped my tag, then added a dome filled with lots of sequins and beads to really shake it up.

reverse confetti: january new release blog hop

Hi there crafty friends! I am thrilled to be joining Reverse Confetti today as part of their January Release Blog Hop! All of the products in this new release are available NOW...there is so much cuteness, beautiful flowers and awesome sentiment stamps in this release.

Today I have created 2 cards for you and can't wait to share some more makes really soon with these stamps...please be sure you are following me on Instagram where I post all of my card creations :)

For the first card, I stamped words from the Words of Love stamp set to make a pattern on part of my card front in Wilted Violet, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxides.

I added an adorable image from the Love is in the air set and colored it in with similar colors of copic markers. To put the card together, I added some coordinating color die cuts of the hearts from the Big Love die. Finally, I stamped and embossed a sentiment from the Words of Love set on black card stock with white embossing powder.

For my second card, I used a similar technique. This time I stamped the sentiment over and over in a rainbow of colors using a sentiment from the Words of Love Set and used the Big Love die as my focal point with a bright pink heart.

simon says stamp monday challenge: use a new product

Hi crafty friends, Happy New Year and welcome to this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week our challenge is to use something new or unused and the design team is using products from Brutus Monroe. I decided to try out their Pink Flamingo Velveteen Glaze and it was the perfect shiny (and super bright) complement to my mixed media tag.

To create this tag, I applied pieces of Typeset Collage Paper to a tag that I cut from White Distress Mixed Media Heavy Stock using DIstress Collage Medium. I applied a layer of gesso and Dried Marigold Distress Paint. Then I applied the Brutus Monroe Velveteen Glaze in Pink Flamingo through the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Hearts stencil and let it dry.

I adhered the Simon Says Stamp Etched Laurel Die cut and layered on the Photobooth photo. Then I inked a Heirloom Rose with Mushroom Alcohol Ink and added it to the tag. Using the DIstress Splatter Brush, I splatted the entire tag with Black Soot and Tarnished Brass Distress Paints. To finish my tag, I added the Snarky Small Talk stickers and inked the edges of the entire tag with Black Soot Distress Ink. I cut a reinforcer hole from Hero Arts Azalea cardstock and added it to the top to complete the tag.
