simon says stamp monday challenge: glimmer and sparkle

Hello crafty friends! Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for all who played along with our challenge last week and we hope you will join us again this week! This week our challenge is Gimmer and Sparkle and I have a created a fun and creepy Halloween Card for my niece using the TIm Holtz Seasonal Distress Mica Stains for extra glimmer and sparkle! These are so concentrated and colorful, and a little really goes a long way. 

To create this card, I took a panel of Distress White Heavystock and created a background using the Hocus Pocus Distress Mica Stain along with Distress Spray Stains in Kitsch Flamingo and Shaded Lilac. I added a few layers, drying between each one with my Ranger Heat Tool. Once the panel was dry, I added background stamping using DIstress Archival Inks in Picked Raspberry and Dusty Concord and the Rest in Peace stamp set. I stamped the focal image from the Wicked Hipster set onto the panel and also stamped and cut it on a separate piece of Heavystock and layered onto the panel. To finish the card, I added two Idea-ology Creepy Eyes and a Reverse Halloween Sentiment Strip from CZ Design. I matted the panel onto a piece of Metallic Kraft Stock and then matted that onto a black card for some glimmery, creepy fun!

Hello crafty friends! Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for all who played along with our challenge last week and we hope you will join us again this week! This week our challenge is Dry Embossing and I mad a quick and easy card with the Simon Says Stamp Tumbled Hexagons Embossing Folder and the Swoopy Oh Crap die from CZ Design. 

To create the panel, I used Distress Watercolor cardstock and ran the Tumbled Hexagons Embossing Folder through my die cutting machine. Then I blended Distress Inks over the panel and added some water drops and built a few layers of ink. I added the panel to the card with foam tape and then die cut the Swoopy Oh Crap and added that to the card panel along with a Craptastic Reverse Sentiment Strip.

Hello crafty friends! Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for all who played along with our challenge last week and we hope you will join us again this week! This week our challenge is Heat Embossing and I have used a Simon Says Stamp Sweet Garden Background along with some Distress Ink Blending. 

I heat embossed the Sweet Garden Background onto a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Then I blended Distress Inks in Prize Ribbon, Rustic Wilderness and Twisted Citron over the embossed piece. I added an Etched Flower Buds die cut and a Reverse Sentiment strip and foam taped the panel to my card base.

reverse confetti: august mini release hop

Hi there crafty friends! Reverse Confetti is having a special surprise MINI RELEASE this month. It's just one stamp set and 2 Confetti Cuts die sets that you are going to love (well I know I do!). I am thrilled to be a part of a Blog Hop today celebrating their new release of these super fun products. 


I have been working on a lot of work and crafty deadlines, so I went through my bin of inky panels to see if I had something that would help me to make a quick and easy card and I came across this one made with Distress Oxides. It doesn't look like much, but I was able to cut all the flowers for my card panel from it. 


I used the Floral Chain cover plate for this card, it comes with the framed outline plate and all the dies to create the flowers and centers for the card. 

 

Reverse Confetti also has this handy guide to show you how many flowers will need to be cut, and where they are all to be placed, which made it super easy for me to plan what part of my Distress Oxide panel I would cut:

prize ribbon distress: tropical leaves card

Hi there creative friends! Today I am sharing a card I created with the newest color in the Distress family, Prize Ribbon. Have you gotten your hands on this fun color yet? I have shared a bunch of my makes along with tips, tricks, techniques and favorite color combos over the last few weeks and I will link to the other Prize Ribbon creations I have posted so far at the end of this post. 

Today's card features a fun, vibrant color combo to create a card framed with Tropical Leaves. I used a combination of Distress Inks and Oxides to make little papers that I could run through my Sidekick to cut out the leaves. I have made these little Distress Ink papers in advance, and then I just added some Oxide Ink layers to them. 

 
I used the Tim Holtz Tropical Thinlits dies, (sadly retired but you may still be able to find them out there) along with Funky Floral 3 and Funky Foliage. You can use any combination of leaf dies, so get creative with what you have! To create the leaves, I cut leaves from my stash of inky papers. I inked the edges of all my leaves with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. 

To complete my card, I added the leaves to a 3 3/4 x 5 panel of Kraft Mixed Media Heavystock and then added the leaves to the panel (some with foam tape to give the card more dimension). Then I turned the panel over and trimmed off any excess hanging over the edges and added some spatter with Prize Ribbon Distress Ink. I added a sentiment from the Observations stamp set with foam tape and also foam taped my main panel to an A2 card base.

Hello crafty friends! Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for all who played along with our challenge last week and we hope you will join us again this week! This week our challenge is celebrating its 11th Birthday! Hope you will make a card to celebrate with us. The design team is using products from AALL & Create. You don't have to use them on your project, but if you have some we would love it if you did!

For my project this week, I made a simple and colorful card for a friend who is celebrating a milestone birthday along with a big move. I wanted to make this fun card to celebrate it all. To create this card, I used Distress Inks (see colors in supplies) to watercolor the houses in bright colors. I cut them out and foam taped them to a Distress Watercolor Cardstock Panel where I had added the same colors of Distress Inks in a loose wash, and also splattered it with the same colors and a bit of Black Soot. To finish, I added a Tim Holtz Small Talk Idea-ology sticker.
