Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Glimmer and Sparkle Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week we are challenging you to: Stamp ItI am sure you all know that STAMPtember® is a very special month in the Simon Says Stamp Store calendar and this week we are asking you to use a stamp, no digi images allowed.
We are showcasing the latest STAMPtember® products and although you probably don’t have these supplies yet we would like you to use Simon’s Exclusive Products if you have them. This isn’t necessary to join in with the challenge but we would appreciate it.
This week I am mixing up a brand new stamp set designed by my crafty friend Miriam Prantner, that was released for STAMPtember® called Raindrops. This set is full of mix and match drops, that you can stamp and layer and also has wonderful sentiments to create the perfect card. I paired it with some brand new Holiday Distress Products from Tim Holtz. I created the stormy background on my card using the new Distress Holiday Mica Stain Set 1 and Set 2 combining the Snow Flurries and Frosted Juniper sprays.
I added a few layers of sprays onto a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock, drying in between and then stamped the drops from the Raindrops set using Distress Archival Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Faded Jeans and Hickory Smoke. I inked the edges of the panel with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. To create the umbrella from The Gent Sizzix dies, I cut it twice from black cardstock and cut it again from one of the papers from Halloween Backdrops. It is a bit hard to see in the photo, but there is some print on the paper.
I then cut out just the umbrella part and embossed it with Crackling Campfire DIstress Embossing Glaze. I glued the partition of the umbrella die on top of that. Once all the layers of the umbrella were glued together, I added it to my panel. I stamped the sentiment from the Raindrops set and inked the edges with the Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. I added the sentiment over the umbrella with foam tape. To complete the card, I foam taped the panel to an A2 notecard.
