simon says stamp monday challenge: recycle

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Bright and Cheerful challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Recycle! This week I turned the packaging from my Tim Holtz Idea-ology Remnant Rubs into an embellishment for my tag by cutting the numbers from the back of the package and adding Distress Embossing Glaze to it to make it pop. 

To create the tag, I covered a Distress Tag with paper from the Backdrops 3 paper pack and added it to my tag using DIstress Collage Medium. I trimmed off any overlap and then added some stitching to my tag. I added a Baseboard Window and a Portraits Paper Doll that I had added some wings to from the Transparent Things. 

To complete the tag, I added the recycled piece from the Remnant Rubs packaging that I had covered with Salvaged Patina Distress Embossing Glaze, a Snippets Ephemera, a Number Strip, and a Mirrored Star. As a finishing touch, I added a little splatter of Sterling Foundry Wax.

Hello creative friends! Today I have 3 springy yet totally different cards to share with you using tons of new and fabulous products from the new release. My first card features the new Delicate Floral Mandala paired with a Bold Birthday Sentiment Strip. I stamped and embossed the stamp with white embossing powder, then sprayed with Salvage Patina Distress Spray stain and colored over with Karin Markers and a Sakura Moonlight Pen. 

The second card is a super simple one, I die cut the new Detail Mandala Plate and then stamped a sentiment from the XL Spring Greetings set with Versafine Clair ink and embossed it. Then I stamped the flower from the same set in 3 different colors. After I stamped the flower in each color, I embossed it with Distress Embossing Glaze. 

And for my final card, I used the same Detail Mandala Plate and colored it with Distress Spray Stains. I added two of the new Tattered Leaves dies cut from white and some shimmery sequins, and finished it with the CZ Design Here for You die, from the Good Luck Charm release.

TIme for some spring crafting! After all of the fun we had at the Make It Merry Event in November, many of you have asked for another event. Spring Into Creativity will be the next all day card making event.  I will be running this event (for 16 fully vaccinated participants only, thanks for understanding) at the beautiful Bridge Art Gallery in Bayonne on Saturday, April 23 from 10am - 5pm. 

This event is a FULL DAY All Occasion Card Making workshop where you will make 12+ cards. It's the perfect chance to spend some quality time with your favorite crafty peeps and build up your card stash. We will be using the newest products from Tim Holtz, Simon Says Stamp, Ranger Ink, Stampers Anonymous, Sizzix and Reverse Confetti. With all of these fun companies and different styles, you will have card ideas for so many occasions! 

The event is limited to 16 participants, so be sure to sign up early to reserve your spot! If the event sells out and you want to be added to the waitlist, please
email me. Here are some snaps from a previous holiday event in this beautiful gallery space.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Feminine challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :)  This week our challenge is Bright and Cheerful and I have made a quick and easy card with watercoloring and Distress Reinkers using one of my favorite new stamp sets from Reverse Confetti...Friendly Florals. 

This card was so easy to create! Just stamp the florals on either corner of your card in waterproof ink, I used Distress Archival in Black Soot and then stamp the sentiment as well in the same ink. I loosely colored the florals by dropping dots of Distress Ink Reinkers onto my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat and picking them up with a Detailer Waterbrush. When the panel was dry (you could use a heat tool) I splattered the card with a little Black Soot Distress Paint.

reverse confetti: march stock your stash challenge

Hi there creative friends! It's time for the monthly Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge and this month's card making theme is Easter/Spring. I have a fun card to share with you combining a bunch of new March release products. 

I've used: 

Picnic Pals stamps and Confetti Cuts 
Better With Friends stamps and Confetti Cuts 
Layered Mom with Frame Confetti Cuts
Stitched Daisies

I have combined images and critters from Picnic Pals and Better with Friends sets to create a little scene with a background of Stitched Daises, framed by the Layered Mom with Frame Confetti Cuts. All of my images got a quick Copic coloring and were adhered to the card (as well as the frame) with foam adhesive. I left the sentiment off the card, and will add it to my stash until I need it for a specific occasion!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Use Some Green challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is FEMININE and I thought this lovely young lady from the Paper Dolls Portraits would be the perfect addition to my card. For the backrgound, I used the Sizzix Arched Embossing Folder and ran my Distress Watercolor Cardstock through it. Then I used some of the new Gilded Tim Holtz Foundry Wax and went over the high points of the embossing, then set the wax with my embossing gun. Once the Foundry Wax was set, I spritzed the panel lightly with water using my Distress Sprayer and used my Distress Inks and a Detailer Waterbrush to paint in the sections of the folder so it resembled stained glass. 

Once the panel was dry, I added a Paper Dolls Portrait with some Transparent Things Wings behind it, a Flash Card and some Snippets Ephemera. To finish the card, I added a Numeric numeral also colored with Foundry Wax.

tim holtz distress saltwater taffy: playing with paint

Hello creative friends! I have another make with the newest Tim Holtz Distress Color, Saltwater Taffy. This one seemed to be a favorite, and was super easy to make, although it would be impossible to recreate in the same exact way. I think my next approach to this technique will involve painting several panels like this at once. 

To create this card, I cut a panel of of Distress White Heavystock and painted over it with Saltwater Taffy Distress paint. Then I dried with a heat tool. If you have not used this paint before, you should know that once your dry it with your heat tool, it is permanent and will not re-react with water or other paint colors. Then I added some more layers to the paint. First I added my warm colors (Mustard Seed, Fired Brick) and painted them on loosely with my paint brush in different areas. If there was an area of too much color, I gave it a little spray with water using my Distress Sprayer. Once that layer was dried with my heat tool, then I added a layer of cool colors (Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, Seedless Preserves). You can keep building alternating layers until you get a result you like. 

Once the panel was completely dry, I cut the Bold Text 1 Make a WIsh sentiment out and then put the letters back in and placed some tape across the back to hold them in. For me, this was the easiest way to add the white letters. I cut the Bold Text 1 sentiment out of white cardstock, and simply adhered them to the outline I had already cut. That's it, super fun to create and simple!

I used the Eggstra Cover panel in white as my background, and combined it with the Easter Cover Panel. I cut the eggs from Yupo Paper that I had inked with Alcohol Inks and then created little daises with glitter paper and added a bold Happy Easter to my card with black cardstock.

simon says stamp monday challenge: add some green

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Use At Least One Stencil challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Add Some Green, and the design team is using products from AALL & Create. I have created a fun collaged square card using the AALL & Create Lotza Crossez stencil on my background and a ton of brand new Tim Holtz Idea-ology on a background of green. I started by spraying Distress Spray Stains in Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover and Mowed Lawn for a vibrant green background. Once the panel was dry, I went over it with white ink and the AALL & Create Lotza Crossez stencil. 

Then I added a Paper Dolls Portrait, some bits of paper from Backdrops Volume 3, Memoir Ephemera Pack, Snippets Number Strips, Gauge Dials and Snippets Ephemera. I finished the card with some stitching, splatter, a Mirrored Star and a Thoughts Label Sticker.

Hi there creative friends! I am thrilled to be joining Reverse Confetti for the month of March and April as a 'Fetti Friend. Today I am thrilled to give you a sneak peek at some of the brand new stamps and dies that will be available on March 8th! 

Today we are featuring:

Today I used some of the adorable bunnies from the Better with Friends set along with the Big Egg die. I cut the die out from white cardstock and layered three of them to give the insides a bit of depth. I added glossy accents to the 'channels' between each part of the egg and then added seed beads in all the pastel colors of the rainbow. I added two of the bunnies (with just a hint of Copic coloring) and a sentiment from the Better with Friends set to finish my card. It could not be simpler, and the seed beads that have been sitting in my stash add a wonderful texture...
