simon says stamp monday challenge: inspired by a movie

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Alcohol challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Inspired by a Movie, and this week I was inspired by the movie The Man Who Knew Infinity. I created a background using Distress Watercolor Cardstock and sprayed on Distress Spray Stains in Uncharted Mariner, Scattered Straw, Crackling Campfire and Bundled Sage and sprayed water, added a few more layers and dried it with a heat tool. 

Once the panel was dry, I stamped images on it from the Stampers Anonymous Weird Science and The Chemist sets using DIstress Archival Inks in various colors. I also added a bit of texture to the panel using the Linked Circles stencil and Transparent Texture Paste. 

I finished the card with Gilded Foundry Wax Splatter, White Splatter and a sentiment from the Noteworthy stamp set that I stamped in Black Soot Archival Ink and went over with some Scattered Straw Distress Ink.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Frame It challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Starts with "S" and I have used all of my favorite "S" things - stencils, spray stains and splatter of course! I created a colorful Distress Tag using the new Uncharted Mariner Distress Spray Stain along with Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral. The mixture turned into a wonderful rainbow of color. 

I added stenciling with Crackle Texture paste, some gesso, more spray stains and stamping from the Media Marks 1 stamps  in Black Soot Distress Archival Ink. Then I added stitching and splattered Picket Fence Distress Paint and Foundry Wax over the entire tag. To finish the tag, I created a number by adding Texture Paste through the new Freight stencils and applying gold embossing powder and embossing. Once it was dry, I sprayed it with Black Soot Distress spray stain, dried it and cut it out. Finally I added a sentiment from the Noteworthy set.

simon says stamp let's chill blog hop: day 1

Hello there crafty friends! I am super excited to once again be joining Simon Says Stamp in a blog hop to celebrate their newest release - Let's Chill.  You should have arrived here from the blog of the amazingly talented Bibi Cameron

I have 2 summery cards for you today in that both feature the new Hello Sunshine die. I love this sentiment for summer cards and am sure I will be using a ton in the near future. For the first card, I paired the Hello Sunshine die with the Fresh Fruit cling stamp background. I stamped the background with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide and then embossed it with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Embossing Glaze. Once my panel was embossed I used Distress Ink Reinkers sprayed with water and a water brush to color in all of the fruits. I love the pink background, it just says summer to me! 



For the second card, I paired the Hello Sunshine die with the new Beach Huts stamps for a sparkly summer card paired with the previously released Sunburst die. I cut the Sunburst die from Glitter Paper, added the Beach Huts hut, surfboard and ball that I colored in with Copics, and the Hello Sunshine that I also colored in with 2 colors of Copics. Super quick and easy and fun!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Alcohol challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Frame It and I have used a Lace Baseboard Frame along with images from the new Floral Elements stamps to frame my main image. The main image is a butterfly image stamped from the new Botanic Collage stamps on a background of Distress Oxides in Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade and Kitsch Flamingo.

The Lace Baseboard frame was colored with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink. I then stamped and watercolored a bunch of leaves from the Floral Elements set with Distress Ink in Cracked Pistachio and cut them out and used them to make more of a frame around my project. To finish the card, I added some Hardware Heads that I colored with Mushroom Alcohol Ink to the corners of the frame and a bit of white spatter and an embossed sentiment from the Noteworthy stamps set.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Alcohol challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Bright and Cheerful and this week the design team is using products from Katzelkraft. For my card, I used the Katzelkraft Arbores Silhouettes stamp to create a card celebrating a new day with a sunrise and a unique color combination. I stamped the stamp in Wilted Violet Distress Oxide then embossed it with Wilted Violet Distress Embossing Glaze. Then I painted in the background with a few colors of Distress Oxides to create a sunrise sky. To finish my card, I added one of the sentiments from the new Tim Holtz Noteworthy stamp set.

Hi there crafty friends! Brand new TIM HOLTZ STAMPS AND STENCILS are available to pre-order from Simon Says Stamp today! Here is a sneak peek at a couple of the cards I have created with this new release. 


This first one features the brand new Bubbles background stamp...this is one big background stamp and I have already found so many fun uses for it, including water. I used the stamp to create a fun background for the Sea Life stamps in Distress Archival Inks on glossy cardstock, then went over it with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I also created a little "sign" using one of the sentiments from the new Noteworthy set. This set is full of amazing uplifting sentiments in a super fun handwritten style. 

The second sneak I have for you features a beautiful floral card using the Floral Elements combined with the new Noteworthy sentiment sets. As you can see, these florals and leaves are all separate stamps and can be combined in so many combinations and styles. For this card, I used them along with some Distress Reinkers to watercolor them, matted them onto a mat of Metallic cardstock and then added the sentiment from Noteworthy which I stamped onto black cardstock and embossed in white. To finish the card, I gave it a tiny splattering of Foundry Wax.
