simon says stamp monday challenge: food and/or drink

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Beautiful Blooms challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Food and/or Drink and I created a fun little tea themed wall hanging using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Papercut Cafe dies. I cut all of the cups from Distress Kraft Heavystock and then painted them with Distress Paints. I added a different design to each one of them. For the background, I colored Distress Watercolor Cardstock with Spun Sugar Distress Spray Stain. 

For the sentiment, I used the new Alphaumeric Bulletin dies and a tiny heart from the Stacked Hearts dies.

simon says stamp monday challenge: beautiful blooms

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the 4 Legged Friends challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Beautiful Blooms and I have created a sunflower card for a friend who loves them using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Blossom Thinlits. I started by spraying a panel of Distress Watercolor Cardstock with Distress Spray Stain in Tumbled Glass. Then I stamped the Ledger Script randomly using Hickory Smoke Distress Arcihval Ink. 

To create the sunflowers, I cut the Blossom die from Distress Watercolor Cardstock and inked the centers with Distress Ink in Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo and set them aside. Then I assembled the flowers by adhering them together and ink blending over the top with my Simon Says Stamp Blending brushes, using the smaller brushes to shade them in. Once that was done, I used my Distress Watercolor Pencils to give the area near the centers some shading. I adhered one of the flowers to the card, then adhered part of the other flower, trimmed it and adhered the remaining part until I had four partial flowers surrounding it. 

I stamped and embossed the Hello There sentiment from the Noteworthy stamp set onto a piece of black cardstock and adhered it. Finally I splattered some Opaque White over the entire panel and adhered it to a card base.

Now let's get into the cards. I have 2 Valentine cards with two completely different looks using the brand new Heart Chain die.The first one uses a repeating pattern of the Heart Chain in Distress Watercolor cardstock on a panel inlaid with hearts that were cut from a rainbow Alcohol Ink Panel...this one was a labor of love but completely worth it to me. I adhered all the outlines of the Heart Chain diecuts from Distress Watercolor cardstock to the panel. Then I cut out Alcohol Ink heart and adhered each of the hearts into the open spaces using foam tape. I finished the card with a clean and simple CZ Design Love Ya die as my sentiment. 





For my second card, I have something in a much more grungy style. I used the Heart Chain die  to cut several chains of the new Rich Red Matte Metallic Cardstock and created my own paper by layering that onto black cardstock. I die cut the paper with the Heart Panes Cover die and I also die cut another paper that I had layered with Tim Holtz Typeset Collage Paper. I combined the two patterns together for a more edgy look and even sanded the heart in the center that I had cut with the metallic cardstock. I added each panel to the card base with foam squares, then added the sentiment strip from the Reverse Bold Love sentiment strips. To finish the card, I added some Stirling Foundry Wax mixed with a bit of alcohol, splattered over the entire card and then heated it with my embossing gun. Something totally different for me, but I really love the finished look!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Shake It Up challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Four Legged Animals and I have created a fun mixed media tag with my favorite Four Legged Animal of all, a girl's best friend! I created this tag with a focal point of Solos Paper Dolls on top of layers of Typeset Distress Collage Paper and DIstress Spray Stains for my background. I added Distress Crackle Texture paste through the Dotted stencil with some Distress Embossing Glaze on top for even more texture. I added some ephemera, stitching and an Idea-ology Clippings sticker to finish the tag.

abstract element cards with *new* tim holtz sizzix

Brand new Tim Holtz Sizzix is here now! Have you seen the newest Sizzix dies from Tim Holtz? One of my favorites is the new Abstract Elements dies. You know I love any type of little Abstract Shapes and marks. Today I have a fun set of cards to share with you using these. I cut a ton of these shapes from Distress Watercolor Cardstock that I painted with Distress Paints. I then took all of the shapes and separated them by color. Then I added the shapes using Distress Collage Medium to pieces of Simon Says Stamp Slate cardstock to create little collages. When I was done creating the collages I added each one to a notecard along with a simple sentiment from the Noteworthy stamp set.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Light It Up challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :)  This week our challenge is Shake It Up, and we are making cards with shakers...or whatever else you have that fits into the theme. 

I wanted to create a fun valentine with the Tim Holtz Sizzx Retro TV die. I cut the die from Grey Woodgrain, added lots of red and pink Lovestruck shaker beads inside the Sizzix Round Square dome and put the TV together. For the outside I added little hearts in place of the knobs with a bit of glossy accents to make them shine. For my background I kept it simple with a tone on tone pattern using pieces from the Atomic Elements set. And finally for the sentiment, I created my own using Sizzix Adhesive sheets on the back of the paper that I used to cut out the Alphanumeric Label dies to make it super easy to put together.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Party Time challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Light Up the New Year...and what better way as a card maker than to make a card to mail to a friend to light up their day! There is nothing like getting a handmade card in the mail. The design team in using products from Studio Light, and we would love you to use some to if you have them :) 

For this card I used Dina Wakley paints on my Gel Press Plate, then stenciled the flower from the Studio Light Floral Quartet over the background I created. Once the paint was dry, I added some linework around all the petals using a micron pen. Then I added black and white splatter and finished my card with a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Bold Text 2 dies.
