I am so happy to announce that I am now a part of Nathalie Kalbach's Creative Squad! I'll be joining her on her blog for the next few months and am so excited to be included in this group of creative women. 

Our theme for March is Opposites Attract and I have a fun project to share with you over on Nat's blog today, I hope you will stop by and take a peek! This month the team is working with the new Bird Stamp and Stencil set from Stampendous. This week the them for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is something that begins with the letter N. This week I chose numbers...

We recently found out  that our landlord wants to sell the place we have called home for the past few years. We are lucky that we found a place just a few minutes away that is being completely renovated...and I will finally have a crafty room of my own again. All this moving has me thinking about numbers, and a lot of changes that are on the way.  I made this art journal page with the artful dwelling die, and added our new house number on it. 

I love the colors of these new Ranger Paint Dabbers together, and the fun texture from the Splotches layering stencil.

simon says stamp monday challenge: autumn is in the air

This week the them for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is Autumn is in the Air. To me, Autumn is all about the fall colors, cozy sweaters and my favorite holiday...Thanksgiving! I think this time of year is a great time to reflect on all kinds of things we are thankful for, and I took out the new 8 x 8 Dylusions creative journal and made a page with some of my favorite fall colors. 

I didn't use the Dina Wakley paint colors directly out of the tubes, but instead used the Paint Mixing Chart from the Ranger Ink website to mix some colors of my own for a more fall palette. I don't tend to journal a lot on my pages, but it's something I'm working on. You can see that I did take a moment to jot down a few things I am thankful for on the paper bag layer behind the cut out plants:

This week the design team over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is all about the Twisted Citron...or any other citrus themed/colored supplies you may have on hand. I love Tim's new Twisted Citron color, and one of my favorite combos with green is pink. I used a combo of Twisted Citron and Picked Raspberry to color in my card this week. simon says stamp monday challenge: "i" scream for

It's all about "I" this week over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. What did "I" make me think of this week? An independent woman, and that is just what I created in my art journal using Dina Wakley's Face In the Crowd set. 

These ladies are so fun to play with in an art journal, and you can see from the page that I changed the look of this one just by adding some paint and giving her a new hair style. Her dress? It is made of bits of torn and painted deli paper that I adhered with matte medium and a brush. I then outlined the figure with black paint and gave her some arms.

simon says stamp monday challenge: stamp and mist

This week it's all about using your stamps and mists together over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Pull out any of your favorite stamps and some of those mists that have been sitting in your stash for way too long and play along with us. I pulled out some of my favorite Dina Wakely stamps, stencils (to stamp with) and Dylusions sprays to make this colorful journal page: 

Lots of stamps and mists going on on this page. I stamped my cling stamps with my mists that had been sprayed onto my craft sheet. I put my stencils in the mist and "stamped" them onto the page. I added a few more sprayed layers of mist and just let them drip down the page. 

I made the tag with some contrasting colors of mist...so easy, and makes a great focal point.

simon says stamp: the color of fun release art journal page

If you did not see it on the Simon Says Stamp Blog yesterday, Simon has a new release- The Color of fun!  and the colors in this release sure are fun. Lots of delicious colors in the release, I think I am going to have to get them all. 

I was lucky to get my hands on some of the new stamps and dies. I used the Game Tile Letters and the Game Tiles Die in an art journal page. I also used the Grunge Alphabet to create parts of my background. These letters look great cut and stamped out of the Cherry Wood Veneer paper. This paper is SO thin you could use your finished tiles on a card and put it through the mail :) 

Here's my finished journal page. I hope you are inspired to create some of your favorite words with these stamps!
