tim holtz pennants: lucky is a state of mind

Happy St. Patty's Day everyone! I hope you are wearing some green today, and getting your Irish on...Today I'm sharing another Creativation 2018 make with the new Pennants set. There is a pennant here for almost any occasion: 

 

This set is perfect for all those academic/collegiate themed cards but also fun in many shades of green to send a little luck! 

To created the stamped panel, I stamped the pennant repeatedly using Lucky Clover, Peeled Paint, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides. I went over the edges with a little Black Soot Distress Ink and used a Black Soot Distress Marker and a Marker Spritzer to lightly go over the panel. I added the scalloped edges from the Stitched Ovals die set and adhered it to an inked panel that was done using the same Distress Oxides as I used for stamping.

To complete my card, I added one more stamped pennant that had been embossed with clear embossing powder and cut with the stitched circle and also spritzed with the Marker Spritzer. I then finished it with a bit of twine and a lucky clover Adornment.

Happy Friday crafty friends. Sharing another Creativation 2018 sample today. This card is filled with layers and texture and I love how it came out. To create the black textured background, I applied texture paste through the Organic Layering stencil and let it dry. When the paste was dry, I colored over it with a combination of black soot and  Distress Crayons to and blended them in with my finger to make a wonderful metallic almost rock-like texture. The inked panel uses a lot of repeated stamping of he sentiment and a few stencils including the new Stitches and Dotted (along with some Grit Paste). When it was done, I sprayed it lightly with a few sprays of black soot marker using my Distress Marker Spritzer.

Sharing another card that I made for the Tim Holtz/Stamper's Anonymous Creativation booth. The blueprints from this release are at the top of my favorites list, they are so fun to color! For this card I used the Beer Blueprints set:

Back today with another Creativation 2018 share. For this card, I used the Ornate Trims set to create the pattern in my background: 

To create the background I blended Distress Oxides on a panel of Distress Watercolor Cardstock to create a rainbow pattern and spritzed it with water. Then I used the same colors of Distress Oxide to stamp one of the trims stamps in a repeating pattern on the panel in coordinating colors on top of the inking. I cut the finished panel with the Stitched Rectangle die.

To create the sentiment, I lined the stamp up on my Stamp Platform and inked the sentiment in one area at a time, starting with the Fossilized Amber, wiping off the ink then adding the other colors to the outside of the sentiment. The Stamp Platform is the perfect tool for doing this, as you get perfect placement each time. 

To finish the card, I added mirrored stars that I colored with alcohol inks in coordinating colors. A super easy and fun card to make!

Sharing another card I created for the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous booth for the 2018 Creativation show. This stamp is big and beautiful and can be stamped in many different directions on the card to create different looks. This stamp set includes a large size stamp block in the package, but I used the Stamp Platform since it's always on my table.

To make the panel, I started with a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock cut to A2 (4.25 x 5.5 in) to cover the entire front of a card. Then I pressed some Distress Oxides onto my craft sheet in Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber and Carved Pumpkin, building up the layers and drying in between each layer and and making sure to get those little inky dots by tapping the paper lightly into the ink. Once the panel was completely dry, I stamped it with the Glorious Bouquet stamp coming up from the bottom of the card using my Stamp Platform and embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder.

 
I then took Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide along with the same colors of Distress Oxide I used to create the panel and used a Detail Waterbrush to paint in some details, especially on the leaves.Once the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment with Jet Black Archival. I cut the panel with the largest of the Stiched Rectangle dies.I then layered the outside (frame cut) onto the card, added a panel of blue cardstock underneath then layered the main panel on top with foam tape. This type of design is a great way to use up those "practice" panels you may have lying around :)
