Hello crafty friends! Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for all who played along with our challenge last week and we hope you will join us again this week! This week our challenge is Dry Embossing and I mad a quick and easy card with the Simon Says Stamp Tumbled Hexagons Embossing Folder and the Swoopy Oh Crap die from CZ Design.
To create the panel, I used Distress Watercolor cardstock and ran the Tumbled Hexagons Embossing Folder through my die cutting machine. Then I blended Distress Inks over the panel and added some water drops and built a few layers of ink. I added the panel to the card with foam tape and then die cut the Swoopy Oh Crap and added that to the card panel along with a Craptastic Reverse Sentiment Strip.

Hi there creative friends! Today I am sharing a card I created with the newest color in the Distress family, Prize Ribbon. Have you gotten your hands on this fun color yet? I have shared a bunch of my makes along with tips, tricks, techniques and favorite color combos over the last few weeks and I will link to the other Prize Ribbon creations I have posted so far at the end of this post.
Today's card features a fun, vibrant color combo to create a card framed with Tropical Leaves. I used a combination of Distress Inks and Oxides to make little papers that I could run through my Sidekick to cut out the leaves. I have made these little Distress Ink papers in advance, and then I just added some Oxide Ink layers to them.
I used the Tim Holtz Tropical Thinlits dies, (sadly retired but you may still be able to find them out there) along with Funky Floral 3 and Funky Foliage. You can use any combination of leaf dies, so get creative with what you have! To create the leaves, I cut leaves from my stash of inky papers. I inked the edges of all my leaves with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.
To complete my card, I added the leaves to a 3 3/4 x 5 panel of Kraft Mixed Media Heavystock and then added the leaves to the panel (some with foam tape to give the card more dimension). Then I turned the panel over and trimmed off any excess hanging over the edges and added some spatter with Prize Ribbon Distress Ink. I added a sentiment from the Observations stamp set with foam tape and also foam taped my main panel to an A2 card base.

Hello there crafty friends and welcome to the Reverse Confetti July Creative Hop. You should have arrived here from the blog of the amazing Ali Farmer.
I am thrilled to join Reverse Confetti to celebrate their new release which is available to purchase right now! Today I have a simple Mixed Media Style card for you using the new Circle of Waves die along with a sentiment from the Oceans of Love stamp set.
To create this card was super easy. I had a panel of Distress Watercolor Cardstock which I sprayed with DIstress Spray Stains in Mermaid Lagoon, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean. When my panel was dry, I cut it using the circle of waves dies. I inked the edges of all the pieces with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and adhered it using foam tape to a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 square panel of white cardstock. I added some splatter using Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays in White and Night. Once the splatter was dried, I added the sentiment from the Oceans of Love set (white embossed on black cardstock). To finish my card, I added a few teeny tiny hearts that I cut with the Love is in the Air coordinating. That's it! Super easy and simple and I love the look...

Hi there creative friends! Welcome to another SImon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you to all who played along with our Red, White and Blue Challenge last week and we hope you will join us again this week. This week our challenge is Fun/Quirky and the Design Team is using stamps from Katzelcraft and I have created a card with the Chien Enervy...this little guy cracks me up. I stamped and fussy cut the image and placed in on an inky background that I created with Distress Inks and stamps. To finish my card, I added a sentiment from the Small Talk Snarky stamps mounted onto a piece of Metallic Kraft Stock.

Hi there crafty friends and welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you to all of you who joined us last week for the Recycle Challenge and I hope you will join us again this week for the Whatever the Weather Challenge. I don't know what the weather is like where you live, but spring keeps trying to appear here. We get little hints of sunny days, then back to winter. I am really wishing for days full of sunshine.
I created this tag after watching the latest Tim Holtz You Tube live all about Distress Sprays. I always love the look of Distress Spray Stains over Texture Paste so I used some Distress Matte Texture Paste along with the Stampers Anonymous Rays stencil to create my own sunshine this week. Once the paste was dry, I sprayed it with Distress Spray Stains in Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber and Wild Honey. I inked the edges of the tag with Frayed Burlap DIstress Ink.
To complete my tag, I added a Paper Doll with Wings cut from the Sizzix 3D Winged die. Then I added some glitter paper stars from the Swirling Stars dies and finished the tag with Clippings stickers and a Remnant Rub.

Hello there crafty friends! I am super excited to once again be joining Simon Says Stamp in a blog hop to celebrate their newest release - Hello Beautiful. You should have arrived here from the blog of the amazingly talented Sidnie DesJardins.

Today I have created a slimline card combing the Lavender Garden stamps and the Capital B Beautiful die...which is the perfect size for slimlines. I cut the panel from TIm Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Then I stamped the stamp from the Lavender Garden stamp all the way across the base of the card in Gina K Whisper Amalgam ink. Some of the images will overlap, but they will get colored over with the loose watercoloring.
I wanted to keep this card fairly simple, so I did some loose watercoloring with Distress Ink Reinkers and a waterbrush. I used Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves for the Lavender and Bundled Sage, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron for the greenery. I put a tiny dot of reinker of each of these colors onto my Glass Mat and picked them up with a water brush to loosely color them in.
I cut the Capital B Beautiful die from White and Gold Glitter card stocks and adhered them together with Liquid Glue, then adhered the entire piece with foam tape. To finish the card, I trimmed a sentiment strip from the CZ Design Reverse Gratitude Sentiment Strips and added a few clear droplets.

Time for the newest color of Distress, Kitsch Flamingo…such a fun pink, I love it! I know, this is what I say about every color, but I love having even more color possibilities with Distress. I am thrilled to have been asked to create some cards in my colorful style with the new color Kitsch Flamingo that Tim shared in his You Tube live today. I created a bunch of Kitsch Flamingo cards with so many color combos, I’ll be sharing one of my samples with you each day this week…so get ready for a FULL week of Flamingo.
For today's card, I created a Slimline Card using Kitsch Flamingo and Chipped Sapphire DIstress Inks, mixed in with some stamping, embossing and gold accents. I inked a bunch of panels and cut different size Stacked Tiles Hexagons - having 25 dies in a pack is perfect for this type of card! I added word stamping from the Faded Type set, numbers from Sideshow, flowers from Flower Shop and that butterfly is from the Field Notes set. To add a little more interest and texture, I took a piece of Metallic card stock and embossed it with the 3D Typewriter Texture Fades Embossing Folder. To finish the card, I added a sentiment with the Idea-ology Quotations Metallic Stickers.

Hi there crafty friends, if you have been following along with Tim Holtz these past few weekends you know that he has been providing us with awesome demos each Saturday over on Facebook Live - if you missed the live, be sure to catch the replay here. Last Saturday's demo was all about the fall vibes, and Tim created a bunch of fall colored combos with us that I could not wait to recreate. One of my favorite techniques was the inky panel with all the colors of fall finished with Distress Mica Spray, I love the bit of subtle shine. I wanted to turn this background into a shaker card and use some of the Sizzix Sequins and Beads mixes that I have in my stash. If you have not seen these, they are tubes full of different sequins and beads sold by color family (or theme).
To create this card, I started by inking a Distress Watercolor panel that I had cut to about 4 x 8 1/2. It's a bit bigger that I need but I like the option to be able to cut out the exact piece I like. I added my inky layers, drying in between each one and when I was finished, I put the panel into my Splatbox and gave the entire thing a mist with Tarnished Brass Distress Mica Spray and dried it with a heat tool. Then, I cut the panel with a Slim Card die to give it that nice, stitched edge.
Once the panel was dry, I wanted to cut out the leaves to make my shaker. I used the new Sizzix Leaf Print dies to create my windows in this panel. These leaf dies are super versatile and give you a few different looks. You can cut the leaf out and it will leave a window like opening in your paper, you can use the insides of the leaves as a textured element and you can also cut the leaf with it's corresponding outline shape to have the outline of the leaf. For this panel, I cut the windows into my panel, then also cut the outline shape using the pair of dies for each leaf to make the outline. I cut these from Lawn Fawn Ground Coffee cardstock which I misted with the Tarnished Brass Distress Mica Spray.
To create the shaker was a bit of a time consuming, but relaxing (to me) process. I added Sookwang (double sided) tape around the border and between all the leaves on the backside of my panel. Then I added a piece of acetate that will sit between my panel and shaky bits. I took foam tape that had been doubled up and carefully arranged it around the back and the leaves to create the shaker. I went around the insides of each "shaker" area with a powder tool so the beads and sequins would not stick to the sides. Then I carefully added the Sizzix Sequins and Beads using a different color for each panel, adding them in rainbow order. I added a piece of cardstock to the back of the panel to create my shaker and then used more Sookwang tape to glue it onto the card panel. For me, it is so much easier to create the shaker piece independent of the card panel, especially with so many colors of shaker bits.
When I was done with the card, I decided to leave it blank on the front and will choose a sentiment to add inside at a later time.
