february 2021: let's get cracking on christmas

Hi there crafty friends! Welcome to the very first Get Cracking on Christmas of 2021. This is a fun monthly challenge that was started by my friend Jenn Shurkus to challenge people to work on their Christmas cards all year long. I know that my biggest problem last year was addressing ALL the envies, and I also ran out of cards so I was making them at the last minute too.

This month, I used the Flora and Fauna Tinsel Tree Farm set, one I never got to ink up in December. I added some "snow" using a glue tube and prisma glitter and tiny pom poms to the garland of lights...and to make it even more fun,a pink car! flora and fauna: butterfly dreams hello

Hi there crafty friends! I wanted to share a little stash of Hello cards that I created recently with some brand new stamps and dies from Flora and Fauna. I started with just one but thought it would be a good idea to send out a bunch of happy hellos. These cards are 3 1/2 x 5, so I started by cutting a panel that was 3 3/8 x 4 7/8 and die cutting the Hello from it (don't forget to save the center of the "O" so you can foam tape it back in :)

Then I stamped one of the textures from the Texture 8 set to stamp some grass along the bottom of the panel. I placed a piece of black cardstock onto my card base, and then adhered the hello panel with foam tape over that. I colored a bunch of butterflies from the new Butterfly Dreams set in rainbow colors and added one to each card. I took a thin (0.1mm) micron pen and drew a little dashed line behind each butterfly to show the "flying" motion.

I just finished writing out all my Christmas cards last night, but you know there are always a few that you still need at the last minute! I created this card with one of my favorite sets I bought this season, the Winter Mini Snowglobe from Flora and Fauna. I can't believe how unbelievably cute (and tiny) these images are!!! You know each year, I create some kind of rainbow card, so here is one for this year...

I used the stamps in the Texture set to create my background by stamping them in rainbow colors of Distress Oxides to create a background.

This month, I created one special card using the adorable Winter Penguin set from Flora and Fauna stamps. I just love this little igloo, could it BE any cuter? I ink blended my background, stamped and colored and cut out all the adorable penguins, igloo and garland and arranged them on a background of tiny pine trees stamped in DIstress Oxides in Pine Needles and Mowed Lawn. To finish the card, I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white on a black sentiment strip.

I did not get cracking for August and September, so for this month's cards I decided to take out all the BRAND NEW Flora and Fauna Holiday Stamps that I have not played with yet and make a few cards. I have also been loving the plaid stamping that I have seen over on the Flora and Fauna instagram account this week too and wanted to try it out. So I made three different plaids and turned them into cards.

On the first card, I stamped the lines from the Texture 4 set with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide to make an all over pattern. Then I used the Winter Penguin Party and Holiday Word Party 2 sets as my focal images. Don't you just love that little garland on the igloo?

For the second card, I did a more unusual color combination using the Texture 3 stamps and Evergreen Bough and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxides to make a fun pink and green card. For this card, the Mini Winter Polar Bear set was the perfect match. I stamped the mountains in Manatee ink and the little trees in Pine Needles DIstress Oxide. I love all the little images that are included in this one mini set!

I used a more traditional red and green palette using Texture 2 for this last card stamping my plaid with Mowed Lawn and Festive Berries Distress Ink. This one is so simple to make. I finished this card using the Typed Joy die cut from silver glitter cardstock.

For my card this month, I have created a fun (non-traditional colored) unicorn card using the Unicorn Ice Castle set colored in pinks and purples. Perfect for some of the little (and big) girls on my holiday card list!

I'm wayyyyy behind, but leaving these supplies out on my table. Hope to be able to create a small stash of these to add to my pile for 2019 before next month!

Today, I have a super simple card with another set I bought, but never got to ink up this adorable Flora and Fauna Christmas by the Sea set. I cut some Waffle Flower Lacy Layers 2 dies, inked the background up a bit and added my stamped and fussy cut (yep, that's right -fussy cut) mermaid to the card with a simple sentiment.
