tiny die cuts, amazing results!

Finally, I have a tutorial for this butterfly card for all of you who asked for it. Thanks so much for your patience :)

Layering tiny dies together to create one big image can have a great impact. Today, I show you a simple way to create a butterfly card from tiny butterfly dies and one large butterfly dies. 



The Tim Holtz Sizzix Vault Boutique Thinlits dies are perfect for this! There are several tiny butterfly dies in this set that can be combined to create the shape of a larger butterfly. I used the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Butterflies dies as my template.

I created a Distress Watercolor Cardstock Panel using Distress Inks, Metallic Watercolors and Distress Spritz to create a fun background. Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the  challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 

This week our challenge is Let's Art Journal and I have created a page to add to my mini junk journal. I took a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and used my palettes that I created from my Distress Watercolor Pencil shavings. These make a kind of paint that is super creamy to paint with and highly pigmented. If you'd like to learn more about how I created the palette I have a step by step video that will show you how to create one of your own over on my You Tube Channel. 

Once I had painted my background, I added some stamping from the Mini Media Marks set using Distress Archival Inks. I added some pencil marks and some dots with a white Posca pen. To finish my page, I added a Mini Paper Doll, a stamp from the Postmarked sticker book, stamped a stamp from the Correspondence set and then added a Small Talk Sticker.

vignette box trio: new 2024 tim holtz idea-ology

Hello there crafty friends! Sharing these fun vignette boxes today that I created with brand new Tim Holtz Idea-ology. I always love creating cards with my Idea-ology and I also like to create fun mini projects and these Square Vignette Boxes are always a great way to explore the new supplies. They are small enough for a card maker like me to work with because they feel almost card size but still allow me to make something more dimensional that can be hung up or placed on a shelf. 

The first panel I created with the Poses Paper Dolls, a bunch of colorful Postmarked stamp stickers and coordinated them with Distress Paints that I placed on a piece of Backdrops and added a little Clippings sticker to finish the panel. Just a little bit of painty layering in a similar color behind each stamp and a bit of splatter makes it all come together. I love the whimsical look of this piece. 


The next panel I covered with the Postmarked Stamp stickers using all the pinks + reds. I added a photo, a Sweetheart Adornment, one Paper Strip and a Salvaged Heart painted with Distress Paint⁠.


This layout would totally work on a card as well. 

For the 3rd panel, I wanted to have a little fun with the new Paper Strips (my second favorite after the stamps!) I created a tiny paper weaving with them, added some stitching and a glossy red Salvaged Heart that I colored with Alcohol Ink. ⁠


A little stitching around the outside holds it all together and I mounted the entire finished piece on a piece of foam board to hold it all together.

This week our challenge is Wedding/Romance/Love and I have created a simple white and gold anniversary card using the Tim Holtz Abstract Florals and coordinating dies from Simon Says Stamp. I placed them on the Simon Says StampDetail Mandala Plate and then splattered the entire card with Gilded Distress Foundry Wax and placed it onto a panel of Simon Says Stamp Matte Gold Cardstock.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for playing along with us last week in the Feminine challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too :) 


This week our challenge is Light + Airy and the design team is using projects from Studio Light. I used the Studio Light Brown Organza Ribbon and Hemp Cord as a fun little bow detail on my card. 

To create my card, I cut a panel of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and stamped the Floral Trims stamp onto it. I colored it in with Distress Oxides and added lots of details with Distress Watercolor Pencils. Then I stamped a bit of the Ledger Script onto each side. 

To finish my card, I added black splatter using Black Soot Distress Paint and a hello die from CZ Design.

This week our challenge is Feminine. I created a card with pretty feminine leaves using the Simon Says Stamp Lush Leaves Wafer dies. See more details below...

I took a favorite Alcohol Ink background that I created on Yupo Paper. I die cut the Lush Leaves and arranged them on my card with foam squares for dimension.


Once the leaves were placed, I wanted to add some gold splatter to my card. I mixed Gilded Foundry Wax with some alcohol, then splattered it onto my card and heatset it with my embossing tool. 



To finish my card, I die cut the sentiment from the Just a Note 2 Dies and added it on with foam squares and then mounted the entire panel to a card base.
