altenew: magical marker techniques

Another card for the Altenew Educator Program today. This time it's a card based on a lesson from the Magical Marker Techniques class. The background on this card was made by coloring through the stencil with markers. It was super easy to create too!

I cut a panel from Neenah solar white cardstock and then placed the Skylight Stencil on top of it using the Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion. This new product is a magnetic board with some really awesome magnets to hold your stencils in place while you are using them. I was able to color through the stencil and the magnets stayed in place the entire time. Another great feature of the station is that you can turn it around to color another portion and it does not move! 


I finished off the card with the Thanks die and let the background really shine on its own.

This week our challenge is Tag IT and the design team is using products from Tim Holtz. If you have some Tim Holtz products, we'd love for your to use them too!  For my tag this week, I took a medium etcetera tag and used the acorn from the Autumn side order along with cut out letters and a hand cut squirrel to make a whimsical piece of home decor for fall...

 

I knew I needed something to go with the acorns, and I did not have a squirrel die, so I drew one roughly and cut it from mixed media heavy stock...

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Time's Up Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :) 

 

This week the challenge is OMBRE and this week we are using products from one of my favorite artists and designers Dina Wakley! We would love for you to use some of her products in your challenge entry if you have some. This week I've created an altered tag with tons of Dina's paints.

 

I painted the ombre background onto the tag that I had covered with die cut letters, then removed some paint with a baby wipe through the Dollops stencil. Then I mixed some turquoise paint with crackle paste and added that through the Spaced Dots stencil. Once all of this was dry I added images and a sentiment from the Contour Figures set and colored them with Scribble sticks. I also wet the ends of the scribble sticks and used a paintbrush to flick color over my project. Everything was adhered with Ultra Thick Gel Medium. winnie & walter: 4th birthday bash blog hop

 

I am so excited to be joining Winnie & Walter in their 4th Birthday Bash Blog hop today! You should have arrived here from the blog of the very talented Heather Hoffman.

The theme of this hop is Celebrating Love and Friendship and I've made a card for you today that celebrates both. I don't usually use soft colors, but I love how this card turned out. 

 

To create this card, I started off by inking up the Spotty Creative Screenings stencil with Tattered Rose Distress Oxide, spraying it with a Distress Sprayer and printing it onto a cardstock panel. I added more to the background by stamping the xoxo from The Big, The Bold and Friends and the tiny heart from the Sketchy Thoughts sets repeatedly to add to the background. I then added a quote bubble and sentiments from the Sketchy Thoughts set. 



The next stop on the hop is the wonderfully creative Vanessa Menhorn!
